Here's a good DIY for replacing rear studs in case someone needs it:

That method works well except when the studs are 3" long. :) Hub has to be removed as there isn't enough clearance to feed them through from behind.

Did I miss a post? I thought we were talking about 50-60mm studs for 20mm spacers. 3" studs...HOLY! What would one be installing with those...45mm spacers?

It's the only length ARP makes in that size unfortunately. They are some of the strongest studs out there and recommended for racing applications. I could go with a 1.5mm pitch instead of 1.25mm but then I wouldn't be able to use the stock wheels on the street anymore as I wouldn't be able to find nuts to use.

you wont be able to use stock lugs anyway because they are not open ended. unless you pack a massive spacer behind the stock wheels, probably need at least 20mm but i would just guess 25+

the 3" long studs are not all THAT long anyway. with 15mm spacers and 48mm open ended lug nuts, the studs do not come out past the lugs, they are in at least a few MM. without the spacers, only just the round tip of the ARP lugs stuck out past the lugs.

i suppose if you used shorty lugs, they might look a tad long.

i would assume they are so long to support use of drag racing wheels. not all drag wheels need such long studs, but the set i have are probably 1.5" thick hubs and without studs this long i could never use them.

I need about an extra 15mm for the Forgestar wheels, current have 55mm studs on there. With those the stock lugs still just fit with the stock wheels (without a spacer) but I have a 2nd set I converted to open lug in case I need it.

What length studs are needed for 25 mm spacers?

For stock wheels? 65mm would give you stock thread exposure, you can go up to 75mm as there is extra room in the top of the stock lug.

Yes, stock sport wheels. Thanks ChrisSlicks. =)

We now have ARP wheel studs in addition to our standard and Nismo wheel studs.
The APR studs can be found Here.

We also have open ended lug nuts so that you can run the extended studs without worrying about bottoming out. They can be found Here.

The ARP studs are probably the best studs out there, just wish they came in more than 1 size for the 12x1.25 pitch. Got my Nismo studs from Z1, they ship super fast and have good customer service.

i might have read over it..... but how long are the stock studs on 370z?
it would be nice if i could go measure but i have a 350z, trying to figure something out
thank you

(looking for stock length)

ChrisSlicks 07-05-2012 06:49 AM

I believe stock is 40mm for a 370Z. The Nismo replacements come in 50mm and 60mm. The 50mm will work with the stock wheels, the 60mm will be too long without a spacer.

Not sure what the stud length is for the 350Z.
