Check your tire pressure, it's WINTER!

Just a heads up to all members who share the cold weather parts of the world. When the temp drops into the 20's or below, your tire air pressure will drop. Mine dropped 3 to 5 lbs. My tire pressure monitoring system lights up every year around this time. So you might want to check them there tires!!

I fvcking hate TPMS.

why do you hate them ? Would you rather drive around not knowing your tires air pressure is out of proper order ?

I would prefer if it would tell you once and then leave you alone instead of keeping an idiot light on until you add air.

Mine went off when it dipped below 40; adding like 2 extra psi turned it off -- come on now.

I like safety features, but that is just annoying. They are too sensitive.

Also, I'd appreciate it if it could tell me which tire is low or if all four are low.

I'd also like the option to turn it off.

i have two V12's in the back and the factory advans up front. the V12's cant hold air for sh1t in the cold!!!!

but i do love having the feature regardless of the fact its just a dummy light.

1psi change for every 10F change.

I haven't had an issue witht he Z yet but I did have to add some pressure in my wife's car. I will check the Z when I get home. Thanks for the reminder.

A proper walk through around the car/check pressure in the morning while you warm it up is good enough for me. Beside older cars didnt have TPMS feature... Ever since TPMS starts coming out with the car. Everyone who sees them blink for a sec thinks it's the end of the world.... Or their car is about to explode.

But I do agree they're nice feature to keep an eye proper pressure. But sure annoying to see the light blink or come on...

TPMS are good, but are poorly implemented. why bother having a $100 sensor in each wheel that can't even tell you your PSI. all they do is tell you if its low. for how much they cost, they should tell you the PSI reading from within the car.

Stealth_Z 12-09-2010 01:58 PM

There are aftermarket ones ... with small screen either on your dash or key remote. Tells you the PSI on each wheels.

my mom had an 05 or 06 m35x and it displayed it on the nav screen. i don't know why they changed that.

because most folks dont know how to read tire pressure. it just confused them + costed too much. + costed too much of the sales advisor's time explaining to them why it is okay even though one side of the car shows 34psi and the other side 36psi (due to sun on that side of the car in the morning).

junkman is correct. regular joe is an idiot.

I check mine often enough it won't light, but I am also use a 0.1 digital gauge :)

And why can't tire stored put in the factory pressure? Is it that hard to read the door jamb?
