winter tires or rims and tires

Hey all,

Looking for some opinions on this.
Currently i have a set of front blizzaaks that i can use that came off the rears of my g37s. I was originally going to buy a cheap set of 18" rims and winter tires, mainly because im thinkokg that whomever changes my 19s with the blizzaaks will end up scratching them. I dont know if my thinking is wrong or logical.

Now im thinking about Just buying a set of rear blizaaks to match the fronts i have in the garage and try to find a tire shop that wont scratch the wheels.

What do you guys think?

I had the same dilemma as you, the thing is a set of blizzaks for 19s will cost you about the same as what you would be paying for a new set of 18's rims and tires combined. The benefit of having the 18s is that you have a seperate set of winter only wheels, and that won't require changing tires + re balancing every season. Also will be a lot cheaper to replace the 18'' tires vs. the 19s.

Get a set of 18s and sell the rear blizzaks you have, they're quite easy to sell right before winter.

yah, not to forget the mounting marks your tireshop can potentially put on due to stupidity. :shakes head:

Don't forget you either have to ignore TPMS alert, buy new TPMS and reset at dealer, or migrate TPMS (is this possible?).
