and as an FYI, tj wanted a couple extras since he perfected his installation, and even though I throw in a couple extra to begin with, two more are headed his way tomorrow. When you buy from me, its a lifetime mod, without additional charges for replacements down the road.

aw man, you sold me. :tiphat: give me a paypal address and ill send over a payment :bowrofl:

Mike,

I received the Nismo vinyl pieces today. What is the best way to put them on?

I did one wheel while I was home at lunch. I cleaned the surface first with water and a cloth. Then I dried it with another cloth. Next I applied a lite mist of water so that I could move the vinyl pieces around once I put them on the wheel. Once I got them in place I padded them dry with a cloth. Would using a hair dryer rather than a mist of water help the process? Thanks for your assistance.

I found this was the best way to do it. Just clean the wheels real well and dry. Then remove the letter, and use a razor blade to position the letter on as perfect as you can and press it on with your fingers. Just lightly stick the letter at the furthest edge of the blade so you can easily remove it from the blade when you stick it on. If the letter is not on right, you can remove it and re-apply. The razor blade works great for this as you can use the blade to carefully lift up the edge and remove.

Thanks TJ. I was using my exacto knife to do just what you are describing about the razor blade on the first wheel. I'll try that without using any water on the next wheel and see how it works. I just had a hard time on the first wheel getting the vinyl exactly where I wanted it. The wheel being slightly wet helped me better move it just where I wanted it.

Here are my Nismo wheels with Mike's lettering. My wheels aren't very clean, but you can see what the vinyl lettering does for them.

Finally had time to work on the car last weekend. Here is the result.

Great job Mike. You lettering is more precise than my wheels. There are large variances between the embossed NISMO logo on my wheels. :shakes head: Rear/left is very shallow. Front/left is very deep. Other two are somewhere in the middle. Only problem is that they fit well on the shallow emboss but a little tougher on the deep emboss (beyond your control). Overall though great product and highly recommended.

Thanks!

Mike,
Thanks a ton for these. They add just enough color to set off the wheels on a gun metallic Z.

BTW......This is the proper way to install the lettering...

Wife + Tweezers = Perfect Install. :)

Mike, I just fell in love with the vinyl lettering. I'm going to order right now, and have this be my first official mod to my car! I'd love the NISMO look, so i'll be sure to specify on my paypal order!

Not a Nismo car, but a PG Touring with Nismo wheels and Mike's vinyl lettering on the wheels.

I am sorry I meant the black powder coating on the rims.

ClemsonWill 06-07-2011 03:51 PM

I agree, those look really nice on both black and white nismos.

Surething1129 06-08-2011 06:50 AM

I just put the vinyls on my PG '10 Nismo. I'll post some pictures later. It looks sick. Thank you Mike!!

Thanks! In my opinion the 370Z Nismo wheels are one of the very best looking wheels you can put on the 370Z.

Yeah definitely. I was thinking about picking up a set of those or Sport wheels and powdercoating them or finding a set of the 40th wheels.
