Poll: What color wheels with Platinum Graphite?
I just purchased a set of 370Z Nismo wheels for my Platinum Graphite 370Z. I'm trying to decide whether to leave the wheels OEM silver or to paint or powder coat them another color. At this point I'm leaning toward another color. Of course black is the obvious choice (flat, semi gloss or gloss), but I prefer something different like blue (dark or medium) or gray (smoke or dark gray metalic). What color should I go with?
Here are some photoshopped pictures of a PG 370Z with Mag/San Marino blue, Daytona blue and smoke wheels which might help. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...ic12634_SM.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...c12634_Day.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...2634_SMOKE.jpg And a picture of forum member Minicobra's car with flat black (20% gloss) wheels. http://www.the370z.com/members/minic...eels-side1.jpg |
Blue looks terrible. I'd go with black.

matte black for sure. :p
|
I say go different then 99% of the norm now (dark gray/black) and go for the dark blue. I think that would look sharp!

With my platinum graphite nismo im going black wheels like the last pic. Then black out door handles and logos, add a carbon fiber hood, and last get the exhaust tips powdercoated black.

Maybe it's your photos, but that looks silver, not PG.

i wonder if theres a way to powdercoat the wheels black. but mask off the nismo part and leave that unpainted. so it pops! just like the advan logo on the RS-D's

Sir,.. I knew Platinum Graphite!...... and you're no Platinum Graphite!!
|
THe pic he's using is Minicobra's PG 370. The colors are just washed out.
|
Yes the picture was obviously taken in the sun based on the shadows so it appears lighter. PG is one of those colors that looks different depending on the lighting.
