Mileage on OEM 18s?
MAybe this is a stupid question, but what is the certified milage on the stock tires? I'm assuming 7500, but can't find this information for some reason.

Advan Sports are like 180. The Bridgestone Potenza's on my G are 140 and I needed tires at like 18K miles with moderate driving. Especially, in the rear :driving:

they are rated at 180
|
180 means that the tires will be gone before 20K

i'm pretty sure it also depends on how you drive. my co-worker with a G35 has some bridgestones with tire rating of 140; he says he needs new ones now that he's over 30k on miles. another co-worker who bought a camry with stock tires with treadwear rating of 230 (or 260 i forgot). dude drives like a maniac and after 3 months into the car, his tires were already balding. treadwear rating also is a bit misleading since they are provided byt he manufacture and who knows what the "real" rating is. |
Treadwear ratings are useless. There is no universal standard so a 140 on one tire may be the same as a 250 on another. The Advans are not going to last long, maybe 12k. 20K could happen but it would be 20k boring miles.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'm just determining if they'll last until I get ice tires for winter, or if I'll be able to maybe have enough tread to consider storing them or even selling them when that time arrives.
