.
I'm curious, what are you trying to accomplish? It may look cool but unless you have forced induction and need a bigger contact patch to prevent spin-out at launch, the added unsprung weight will cost you horsepower and the car won't handle as well on the track.
Just the cool factor,:driving: The z is my DD.no track car, just like to push it from time to time. |
Re11 is a great tire used to have them on my corvette. The rRE11 always took back seat however in the corvette forums to the Michelin pilot SS ....so has anyone compared these and why are these prefered here? I was going for the king of performance tires the SS. But this thread got me wondering what am I missing?

Here the z with the 285 and 305 combination

My Costco said the re-11 are discontinued, but I see tire rack still has them. Has anyone tried the new Pilot Sport 4s? It is a hybrid compound tire with softer compound on the outside part of the tread for handling and firmer compound in the center and inside edge.
Probably too early to get feed back on tire wear, but I am looking for a tire that would be good for a lot of track time. |
Just left Discount Tire and according to them they are not discontinued. I was attempting to replace my fronts with the RE-11s but apparently they domt come in my size? What size are you guys using for fronts im the RE?

I think people confuse that the Re-11 was discontinued in certain sizes and that gap was filled by the re-11a. Pretty sure the RE-11 in the sizes available now are very much alive and well lol Also 265/305 on sport wheels fit and drive very nicely. |
treadwear rating changed dat is the "A"
i and others who repeated me mentioned dis many times somewhere on this forum. |
For those still looking for RE-11s, try Tire Rack.
