Anyone running run-flat tires?

I looked around the forum a bit and couldn't find anything. seems if your going the weight reduction route someone should have these and get rid of the spare tire in the trunk. if anyone has them, what brand, and how to they compare to OEM?

my dad has dunlop run flats on his XK-R but they can be kind of expensive

thats what i've heard, but if I heard some of the cost is offset by only having to buy 4 tires instead of 5. 4 X 500$ a piece = 2000. 5 X 350$ a piece = 1750. not too big of a difference considering you'll never have to worry about a flat, and its like your paying 250$ for a 30lb weight reduction

run flat tires tend to be very heavy compared to their non runflat counterparts, not to mention that if you get a nail in one, you'll still have to replace the tire, $$$, it just allows you to drive on the run flat for a while without damaging the wheel. Most places will not patch or plug runflats either, you'll need to buy a new one, plus, if there are a few thousand miles on the tires, you might need to purchase a pair of tires (front or rear).

Just carry a can of fix a flat and get AAA, it'd be alot easier and cheaper.

Doesnt Fix-a-Flat ruin the inside of the tire and blow any hopes of getting it sealed correctly?

Yes you can have run flat tires. Bmw five series run the same oem rays tires. Two of my tires got holes in them a while back and I. Went to my friends shop and he gave me two run flat tires same oem tires at the stock rays. They retail over 400 each

I'm pretty sure they just got to clean it up very thoroughly, since most shops won't want to do that, they'll just say forget it.

Honestly, runflats aren't worth the $$, just run w/o the spare at the track and throw it in for daily driving, no biggie.
