Pics of Rays sport wheels with larger tires??
Anyone have any pics of their Rays sport wheels with larger tires on them? I want to go with a wider tire (305 on the rear) but I want to see what it looks like first.

Check out Stormcrow's white nismo. I believe he is running 305's on the rear.

I ordered a set of Hankook V12 in 275/35/19 and 305/30/19. I plan on getting these installed on my Z's stock sport rays by this weekend. I will post some pics when I get them on. I am coming from NT05 (Stock Sizes) so I am interest to see how these tires stack up to the NT05. I only got 11k out of the nitto's but I knew they would not last that long the price you pay for sticky soft tires.

I just got the Hankook V12's installed this morning in the 275/35/19 and 305/30/19 sizes. They look awesome I wasn't sure about the wider tire I thought it might be too wide for the stock sport rays. I was wrong there is a small bulge but its not bad at all. The tires grip very well (straights and corners) and I am coming from the NT05 so that’s saying a lot. But I do feel my Z over steers a bit more but its not that bad. I don’t think it’s the tires lack of grib but the back tire is slightly shorter then the front 26.3 R 26.6 F. It would make since because the Nismo Z owners say they have a bit more under steer from the larger diameter rear tire (26.9) to front tire (26.7). Over all I am very pleased with this tire setup, enjoy the pics!

Here is Minicobra's pics of the stock sport wheels and 305's with spacers...Nissan 370Z Forum - Minicobra1's Album: 305's on stock 19" Sport Wheels

all things being equal, wouldn't a wider tire in the back reduce oversteer, thus increase understeer.

to much on front IMO

Hey tbss2008, I wanna check out the New tires to see how they fit. I want to see how much clearance there is for spacers.

One favor please.... Take a pic of the rear of the car straight on at a low height so we can see how wide the tires are. The only thing I'll add is a 20mm spacer I think. |

I'll keep you updated, maybe we can get another meet up going again. |

Can't wait to burn up these Nankang NS-II that came on mine... I spin the wheels or drift and they don't even make a normal screeching sound like a tire should. |

Update on the Tires:
These tires are really starting to shine I have about 500 miles on them now. The rear end seems a lot more planted at high speed and the turn in response is great. Toward the end of the NT05's I was able to spin all the way through 2nd on most streets now 2nd gear grabs quite well. I can still spin 1st gear but if I roll into the throttle in 1st the 305's will stick for a really good launch. I want to see how it does at the track but we're hitting triple digits down here in Texas it’s freaking HOT! On a side note I am able to still drift the Z but it takes more throttle then before which tells me the wider tire is doing its job. And when it does break loose its very predictable. There is also no screeching sounds more of nice quiet howl, it’s a really good tire! |
Getting 265/305 S-04's installed today.
20mm spacer too much for the rear...way too much poke for my taste (see pic) Removed all 4 spacers as the shop recommended against using them only on the fronts, even though they don't poke out like the rear (sorry, no pic of them on the front). 10mm x 4 will work, might look to do a trade with someone. Going to pick up the car later, will post more pics. |
Op 2010.
