Tread patterns, what's the difference?

Hi Everyone

Something that has always interested me is the differences in the tread patterns and how it affects you in real life...

There's a lot of marketing out their claiming their tire patterns are awesome but what's the difference between the normal, asymmetrical and directional? I mean most companies make all three types and claim all three types are awesome...

Also for asymmetrical, the tyres are facing the "wrong" way for half the tyres cause they're rolling in a different direction to the other side... does this affect anything like water dispersion?

thanks

yes and no.

Tread pattern will effect your wet traction, but tire compound is way more important. A softer tire will usually perform better, add a decent tread pattern and you will have yourself a good grippy tire
