I think it's worth it to get them. But, if your concern is the off chance you'd be driving down to a rim, I assure you, you would know it with/without a light if your tire pressure drops that much.

That procedure won't work to initialize new sensors. It will only reset previously initialized sensors (and turn off your MIL).
