Need new tires from Tire Rack. I need help.

Wow at 8,400 my rear wheels already seem worn, the care doesn't have good grip anymore on sharp turns.

I don't want to spend $500.00 on a new rear set, so can you help school me on All season vs. Max performance Summer etc......... All season suck right?

Tire Search Results

Thanks, I appreciate it.

I think I had the Firestone Firehawk GT's on my G35, and they were alright.

They don't really suck, you just give up a lot of dry weather performance for marginal winter performance when you choose all seasons over a summer tire. If you want to save some coin, look at the Hankook Ventus V12... good reviews and I think that's what I'm about to order... just working out sizing.

I just replaced my Advan Sports with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. 245's up front and 275's in rear.

How are you liking the Michelin's thus far? I had them on my Mustang before I bought the Z and loved the hell out of them. Not ready to change out the tires yet on the Z, but would like to know what you think of them before I do.

First, do you have the sport package? How do you feel the sidewall stiffness in the Michelins compares to the stock tires?

(Sidewall stiffness significantly improves cornering and also rim protection for those nasty potholes.)

so what is the best tire as far as tread wear ratings?... and preformance.. for the winter and summer? for under a grand 4 a set of 4 ? i heard falkens but they not on tire rack?

The OP lives in Los Angeles and is considering all seasons? We don't even have snow here during the winter and I doubt you'd be going snowboarding or camping with a Z.

I'd stick to summer tires. If you want the best bang for the buck and don't plan on tracking the car, take a look at the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's.

i have two new rears going on today for the nismo. OTD at discount tire mounted and balanced is $580

V12 - 305/30/19

Azroadster 09-08-2010 03:22 PM

Sounds about right. I paid $1100 out the door at Discount Tire for 305/30's in the back and 275/35's up front. So far I really like these tires. I don't think you can beat them for the $$$. I checked on S-Drives, but they were slightly more expensive at Discount, and I had heard nothing but good things about the V-12's. I had S-Drives on my MS Miata and they very good tires.
