Did a blind vote without looking at the results or the posts, seems I agree with most ppl here: Gunmetal

yess!! gunmetal with the red calipers would be sweet! ;) . im gna prolly take mine to the same place. tell me how they come out!

tonybui 03-30-2010 12:29 AM

How much will it run you ??

m4a1mustang 03-30-2010 07:58 AM

Its $135 per 19 inch wheel.

I'm holding off for now as I have some other expenses coming up. Spent about $500 on tools this weekend and I need to budget another 1000 or so for tires, so I need to cool it with Z mods :)

tonybui 04-01-2010 11:30 AM

Damn that's expensive, I would just buy the air intake now instead of painting my wheels lolz

I'm an idiot

Your not driving a dodge neon. There are plenty of kids that paint there dodge neon stocks or even hub caps. Please dont allow yourself to stoop that low when you own a 370z. I get so sad thinking about that. But ohh well. I guess thats all you can do since that car payment has you strapped for cash. But to each its own. Better luck next time. LOL I just had to laugh to myself one last time. Painting your stocks! WOW LOL!!

Seriously, are you just going around trying to bash m4a1mustang, did he hurt you in some way?

hey steve.. I got my nismos powdercoated by a guy over in waldorf for $85 a wheel. He does it as a side business, and does really good work. If you want his number just PM me. I called every shop in this area... about 8. They were all over 135-150 a wheel. ASCO said the only gunmetal they have is an "argento", which I honestly didn't think looked right. You will probably have to stick with black if you use my source... I chose Satin black, which is pretty much the color of tony's wheels. He has some dark grays and black chromes though.

$85-$100 a wheel is much more typical. You have to also consider prep though. The $85 probably doesn't include blasting the wheels, just a scuff and coat. That isn't a HUGE deal on wheels in good condition, but blasting will give a better bond.

Once I get setup powdercoating, I'll likely charge premium members here $100 per wheel with blasting included, just to give you an idea

Powder Buy The Pound | Powder Coating Equipment and Supplies

Find your color here and ask the guy if he can order it, or if he will do them in a color if you supply the powder...he should be more than willing.

definitely impressive price then. That is probably 4-6 hours of labor for 4 wheels being blasted, prep'd, and coated.

yeah I know right? I think it's because it isn't his main source of income. All the other places I called were powdercoating shops.. so that's all they do. Plus in this area everything is stupidly overpriced.

well, mine is going to be a second source of income as well, but I won't be giving it away :rofl2: :icon18:
