The Full Details on Spare Tire Kit

I just purchased the Spare Tire Kit today through my Nissan Dealer Parts Department, and thought I'd post the details on a new thread so anyone who wants the info will be more certain to see it.

for those of you who may want to buy one for your Z. The Coupe and the Roadster Kit's each have their own part number, so be sure to order the right Kit for your Z.

The part number for the Roadster is: 999W5 ZW000, as previously posted on the Forum.

The kit includes everything you need, but the actual tire. Included are: the spare wheel, spare wheel clamp down assembly, tool storage tray, inner trim panel, jack, jack rod, spare tire cover, a valve stem, "this is a spare tire" caution label, tire placard label, (shows inflation pressure- 60 psi, and tire size- 145/70/18.

See owners manual for full instructions.

HOWEVER! you have to buy the actual tire and have it mounted and balanced. I am buying that through the Dealer Parts, they will get one from one of their suppliers. I told them to make sure it's a "newer" manufactured tire, I won't accept an old one. I suggest that you do that too for safety and reliability's sake.

The dealer is charging me $460.00 for the kit, and not sure how much for the tire yet, but they're going to try to find one locally, and doesn't expect it to cost too much, but whatever it is, it is. Probably will be between one and two hundred dollars, but just a guess.

So; My wheel locks are on, and spare tire looks like a done deal. Now all I need to do is to DRIVE THE CAR!! LOL.

umm, you didn't get a spare tire with your car?

If he has a roadster, I dont think it comes with a spare

Caravanshaka 03-24-2010 03:49 PM

really? Guess they are trying to save weight and trunk-space for the roadster...

This is why I posted a new thread, to give this issue a real heads up.

Everyone who wants a spare should check to see if they have one.

Only cars sold in Maryland come with spares, both coupe and Roadster. It's a State law there, all cars must come with a spare tire.

So, no, I did not get a spare. But I have one now!

I have a spare in my car, not sure it is state law here.

Thats just weird! So if you get a flat your forced to call a trucking company errr... If it makes you feel any better I ordered a BBK with 15" front 14" rear and I dont think my spare will work anymore because I think the base has a smaller spare wheel than sport and I need 19" wheels at min. to clear the BBK. Could be wrong though, and if so there will be no point for me to have a spare anymore. A good reason to throw that new sub in its place :)
