SSR TYPE -F wheels

I've been trying for 2 months to get my rims powder coated in a dark charcoal metallic.
Everything looked like crap, so I decided on a major change with these SSRS's.
What do you think?
2 Kgs. per wheel lighter than stock.
Forged 2pc.
Fitment brought them out flush.

LiquidZ 03-03-2010 10:30 PM

I really like that wheel, but I think you need to lower the car to really complete the look. Looks great though!

Put it on my tab at Harry's.

Wheels def look good. Dunno if you had any time to test them out yet, but do you feel a difference with the weight savings?

LateralG'z 03-03-2010 11:49 PM

Those are tight like a tiger

vortrex 03-04-2010 01:31 AM

are those 18's? I love those wheels.

schrute 03-04-2010 02:00 AM

Looks like 19's to me.

Ztoon 03-04-2010 05:13 AM

19's.... was also able to use my stock tires with them.

NA&CH 03-04-2010 08:38 AM

I like those wheels. Just wish they had more of a concave face in the rear...

Looks great. Very nice color combo.

I like them, I have them on my car in silver. Are yours 19x9.5 +22 19x10.5 +15 ? If so then you need a fatter rear tire. I run a 305/30/19 on the rear and 255/35/19 in the front with no probs and they fill everything out very nice. If you want you can also use a 265/35 on the front.

RCZ 03-04-2010 11:30 AM

people should be allowed to post wheel pictures until they have a drop.

Looks great, needs a drop, bad.

Redsnow88 03-04-2010 01:42 PM

LOL your car is also in the more-japan's Blog.

Love to see your silver ones. Got any pics?

Glad you posted the tire size. I was wondering what size to replace my stock ones with when worn down, as the rims are 1/2'' wider, same as yours.
What brand did you go with?

Agreed. Going to wait till my body kit arrives though, to see how much clearance I've got to play with.

If that's OK with you.

I think it looks great! I don't know how you can go lower w/o a camber kit, but I'm still learning about the Z34.

vortrex 03-04-2010 11:22 PM

what did you do to your mirrors? is that paint or a cover?

teejnut 03-05-2010 12:24 AM

nice choice of wheels! here's my setup with the ssr type-f.

http://teejnut.com/gallery2/d/12398-2/IMG_0768.JPG

Ztoon 03-05-2010 12:55 AM

Good choice. Really like the contrast with the black.

Answers to previous ques.:
-mirrors are CF covers
-rim spokes are curved that way to accept the larger brakes on the sport package.

I really don't have any good pics, I only have an Iphone to take take pics with, because I can't find the cord to my camera to upload pics at this time. I will post some as soon as I get some decent pics.

Some Pics of my car Finally..

I have a couple pics of my car by itself and with some other cars. The reason I posted some of the pics with the other vehicles is because in some of the pics by itself it looks like it needs a drop to close some wheel/fender gap when it really doesn't. Just the angles I guess..or shadows..dunno. The main ones I'm talking about is the second one from the back right makes the rear look like it has a large gap and the first one from the front left makes the front seem like it has a large gap. Maybe I'm being self conscious !:tiphat:

Really nice. Big difference with the right size tire. Once I burn through my stock skins, I'll have to re-consider whether I need a drop, as yours look fine.
Did you get the center caps? Can't tell with the pics.

Yep and I think the center caps are badass because they are HUGE, look like billet pieces of metal when I got them(doubt they are). Thanks for the compliment, If possible get the 265/35/19 in the front as that's what I would have gone with but I could only find expensive tires that had that measurement. I think the Potenza RE-11 are in that size.
