Stock Rays + 265/35R19 (or) 255/40R19 Fronts, 305/30R19 (or) 285/35R19 Rears
 

As title suggests, will this work (without issue!)?

Anyone running these combinations? (255/285 OR 265/305)?

If so, comment on the differences...and pics welcome! (preferrably before and after...)

Id stay with the first combination. I know it has been done, but I just wouldnt put a 305 on the stock wheel. Plus, what do you need 305s for? Don't you like sliding your car around a bit? You would be getting rid of what little fun you can have on the street ;))

The only thing is that I'm not seeing many matching front + rear combos with the smaller up-size. RE-11's are what I'm targeting, and that seems more of the 305/265 set.

Also, other than the 305 being meant for a rim .5" wider, is there any particular reason why not? Curious.

When I looked for tires, i thought it would be a good idea to keep the stock tire height ratio as close to stock as possible. That means when you do the math to get the tire height for the stockers you get...

245 40 19 = 245 X .40 = 98
275 35 19 = 275 X .35 = 96.25

So as you can see there's only a small difference between the tire heights front to rear. You want to keep that small difference with whatever combination you go with... so you have to whip out the calculator and see which tire brands have sizes that work for you.

If i remember correctly there is a combination using 285/305 for the RE11's that work.. That may be your solution.

As far as why i wouldn't....its exactly because of that. They are meant to go on wider wheels for obvious reasons. There are negative aspects to running too wide a tire. Some people on here would swear that it doesn't, but it's a matter of physics, not a matter of what it feels like for every day driving.

I am planning on going 265/35/19 up front because it is as close to stock diameter as possible without staying stock and while still fitting a widder tire on the stock wheel. I have already put new tires on the rear and opted to stay stock sized (Nitto NT05's). Would love to go 285 in the rear but there is no way to do it without straying away from stock diameter.

That was the basis of my plus-sizes I posted. Enter the stock size, plug in the desired width and profile, and you get a lot of info. Mostly what I looked at was radius comparisons. If those are very close, then the tire itself will be very close to stock, meaning you won't have much in how off your speedometer is, and it shouldn't "not" fit under the wheelwell.


My main thing is how the stock tires look like they're stretched over the rear wheels. I'll have to check the fronts to see what they look like, but, I don't like that stretched-on-rubber look.
