Is 285 4S worth it? Or should I stay with 275?

Hello. My current tyres are really showing it's age. I have Michelin 4S, 275/35ZR19 on rear and 235/40ZR19 on front. Previous owner for whatever reason decided to go with 235 on front. Now the time has come to buy a new set and I'm wondering if that additional 10mm of rubber would prove any significant gain worth considering. I don't mind lower mileage, though I mind the noise which is driving me nuts. I don't track my car (too poor for that) but I love dynamic driving and acceleration. Should I go with 235/275 combo or 245/285? I know this is a stupid question but I really need your opinion guys. Thanks in advance...

Go with the 245/285 combo. That is the oem sizes for the Nismo.

Thanks for the input. Should I expect any gains with +10mm tyres? The only thing I'm afraid of is that they won't fit my rims. They aren't stock.

Touring/Sport came with 245-275, Nismo's came with 245-285.

Do you know how wide your rims are? If 275s fit, perhaps 285 will fit too, it's 5mm on each side of the wheel. You can try to predict fitment based on how "stretched" the tyre looks on the wheel at the moment.

Regarding grip - yeah, you'll get a bit more grip, but nothing TOO crazy.

285/325 here on Nismo wheels

I think a 285/285 set up would be awesome.

Same here. 285/325 PS4S on nismo width wheels. I think 285/305 would be better though. 325 looks a bit too wide for 10.5 inch wheels
