Keep, Sell or Let Go Old Tires

I am replacing all 4 tires with new ones.
My fronts need to be recycled, but the rears (stock Yokohama's) are around 4/32nd.

These tires have just seen DD with some spirited driving, so they are in relatively good shape.

I am not sure that I want to keep/store them, and am trying to decide if they would be useful to someone locally, or if I should just let them go when the new tires get installed.

I've never sold used tires. Would these be worth selling, and, if so, what would be a fair price for both tires?

Keep them and post them on your local Craigslist. You'll be amazed what people will buy... I even sold a single used tire for $50 on Craigslist a few months ago.

Goes double for states with mandatory inspections. I sold my used tires to someone who needed to pass inspection.

Interesting. I will consider possibly keeping them.

I'd have to weigh in the cost of disposing the tires if I don't sell them since their is a county disposal fee per tire (no disposal fee if I let them go with new tire installation).

Thanks for the point about inspections (we have mandatory inspections).
I didn't think of that....

I always make sure to hit up an empty parking lot to beat the last of the remaining tread off the tires before replacement. It's fun and good practice for emergency situations :twocents:

Hahaha!
You make a good point, and that method is certainly a possibility.
