Volk TE37SL Availablity

Anyone know a good source for these? Local shop says all his vendors are saying backordered a year and possibly discontinued....

The last time I was looking - I was able to get a quote for a set from Z1; but they would be a special order to begin with - so who knows how long the wait. Regardless - I'm curious as well since I might be looking for a set.

Officially, dealers will tell you that the TE37SL has been discontinued. Rays Engineering has moved on to new versions of the TE37 with newer features for both performance and countering fakes.

Newer versions:
TE37 Sonic - 16 in and smaller for compact cars
TE37 Saga - 17 and 18 inch, what most of your 90/00’s JDM sports cars run
TE37 Ultra - 19 and 20s for more modern cars

You can see them all on the official rays website
https://www.rayswheels.co.jp/

The newer wheels feature various levels of engraving, like the logo and the rim edge, cutout pockets for weight savings, and knurled lips for tire stability. It’s harder to KO more features

If you are in the market for TE37SL, you should have about $4000 budget which is where newer wheels will take you.

Your problem is that z34 sizes are probably not stocked by the domestic distributor, Mackinaw Industries. Most places are stocking STI/type-R/Supra stuff. Maybe they have GTR spec leftover, but that market is dwindling. We can hope for a resurgence when the z3t drops

You should be looking for 19x9.5 +22 and 19x10.5 +12 which is a safe, common spec. Used sets in this spec pop up often enough, watch the for sale section

If you have testicles you can go for 20x10.5 +24 and 20X12 +20, which is a GTR spec. This will fit our cars, i use 20x11 +15 in front.

Stocks a lot of Rays wheels

UNOFFICIALLY, retailers say that as long as people still buy them, Rays will keep making the TE37SL, although it may take time to get. They like money, after all. I’ve been hearing “last batch” of TE37SL for about three years but they keep popping up.

Oh yeah, within each variant of TE37 there are other special editions like:

SL
Club Racer
S-plus
Time Attack
Black edition
Track edition
M Spec

All of thee are mostly color variants. M spec means Ultra, without the engraved ring. There might be some superficial performance feature
