18 inch wheels for 2017 Nismo Inquiry

Reached out to fitment industries regarding downsizing to 18 inch wheels but they stated they do not recommend downsizing wheels as it may result in issues with caliper clearance.

I've seen others on the forums pull of 18" and checked out the 18" wheel thread but didn't see much for 2015+ Nismo.

What would you guys recommend for a 2017 stock suspension that look similar to Gram Lights 57CR?

What offset would be recommended for an 18" staggered setup on the Nismo with fully stock suspension.

18x9.5 for the front
18x10.5 for the rear

But not sure what offset is needed without any spacers to get a look similar to the stock wheels fitting with the fenders and clearing the calipers. I know stock offset is 40 front and 23 rear. Green as grass when it comes to after market wheels and trying to figure this out.

Would something like
18x9.5/18x10.5 5x114.3 18/22 work or not?

Also what about bolt pattern measurements?

Thank you in advance.

You realize that the 2015+ Nismo Z has the same sport calipers as . . . every other Z with sport calipers, right? The only difference is the color. Which does not affect clearance

Offset is not that primary issue. SPOKE DESIGN determines brake clearance. The two wheels with the same width and offset may have different clearance because of how the wheel is shaped. This has been discussed repeatedly

Additionally, every Z has the standard Nissan bolt pattern: 5 x 114.3

Why would you want to replicate the stock wheel fitment which is utterly hot garbage?

Since you are in Florida, I would highly recommend contacting KamiSpeed, a Florida vendor here who is a Rays Wheels distributor. https://www.kamispeed.com/

The Gram Lights range is probably worth looking at - it's the the entry level range from Rays Engineering, roughly $400/wheel depending on whats in stock, what sort of color you want.

In particular,
Gram Lights 57CR, a fairly straightforward 5 spoke design:
https://www.rayswheels.co.jp/product...=en&wheel=57CR

or

Gram Lights 57DR, a simply 6 spoke design:
https://www.rayswheels.co.jp/product...=en&wheel=57DR

Both are readily stocked stateside by Rays distributor in the US (Mackin Industries)

Take note of the EXTENSIVE legend chart that shows what brakes each size will clear. Thats how you know Rays is legit - they are testing and putting that info out there. Shittier companies will not because they're . . . not Rays.

Front: 18x9.5 +22
Rear: 18x10.5 +12

This will clear everything. Brakes, fenders, etc. You can use 245/45 front and 285/40 rear and match OEM tire diameter

Word of warning - think about why you want to go down to an 18. It's gonna look like crap. the Z's wheel wells are enormous - thats why you should be going the opposite direction and looking for 19 or preferably 20's

18 inch wheels are used by track folks for cheaper and wider tire selection

Enkei and Work have 18 inch wheels but brake clearance is going to be a more indepth discussion as their spoke designs do not clear the brakes in all sizes.

You should also read this thread:

which obviously you could have found if you looked for it

Perhaps I am a bit strange but I prefer my 18" Base wheels to the Nismo/GT alloys.

Maybe spacers would improve the arch gap but I like the wheeels.

Who took a dump in your mouth to make you end up being all sissy pissy?

Everyone is always in a bitchy a55 mood around here making it seem like they are obligated to reply but it is an inconvenience to them in doing so.

You can just reply in a normal civilized manner or not at all. I just don't get these forums these days. Seems like we are on Facebook.

Uh, if you are going to criticize OZ, then at the same time you should give credit on the very informative post earlier.

While on stock suspension it won't look ideal, it doesn't look bad on a lowered Z with some meaty tires.....

Take chill pill, xanax, zoloft or even better a klonopin! Now that you know that all Z with sport brakes are the same go back to 18's on Z thread!

Oh and don't consult with Fitment Industry for anything. They advise is worth the time to read it!!!

Agreed! I just used the link as it had 275/40 tires (somewhat meaty) as a reference to support my earlier reply.

I went through that whole thread at least three times before buying two sets of wheels for my track setup! There are few people on here that you can take their advice as gospel for wheel fitment, OZ and JChammond for starters!
