Balanced tires

Looking for a good balance of tire between track and daily driving I have it narrowed down to:

Continental extreme contact DWS06

Michelin pilot super sport

Continental extreme contact sport

Thoughts?

Go with Michelin; either Pilot Super Sport or the updated Pilot Sport 4S.

I've tracked with both. The 4S has more grip.

May also want to add the Hankook Ventus V12 to the mix. I love them for daily driving, and they've worked well on the few track days that I've attended.

They seem to be wearing evenly and are relatively inexpensive. This is not to say that your choices are bad, just wanted to offer my $.02...let us know what you decide.

Have you ran pilot sports / potenzas before? If so, is there a ride quality difference?

I'm up for new tires (live in FL) - and the v12 price is tough to beat - I don't track.

For the STREET - for potenza’s I’ve had RE050 (base 350z 17in size on a 240sx), RE11 and RE71R, my experience is always nice and smooth when brand new, but noise and harshness substantially increased once the initial layer is worn off. I don’t have any quantitative measurements to provide, however.

I also had V12, same size as the RE050, same 240sx, street ride quality was much more consistent throughout its life.

I run Extreme Contact DWS06 in Austin, Texas with spirited street driving. I don't pay as much attention to the impact of one tire compared to another as some do, but I very much enjoy the ride and handling quality of the set.

+1 for the DWS06

I'll stand by my earlier Michelin recommendation, but I had Potenza S-04 prior to the Michelins and, in that price range, I'd say the S-04 are the best or at least one of the best. That said, there is a night and day difference between them and the PSS or PS4S, wet or dry.

I'm guessing better difference, right? 😜

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ I would highly consider. I recently installed a set of Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 R’s on my Z for street driving they are one of the best tires I have used yet great dry traction and even do good in wet conditions as well. I always liked the Yokohama’s though.
