NITTO NT01 / TOYO R888r / MT ET Street SS ??

Just made the order for wheels and tires at Fitment Industries. Went with Toyo R888r 305-30-RZ19 on 11" Varrstoen ES2 wheels for the rear and Toyo R888r 245-35-RZ19 on 9.5" Varrstoen ES2 wheels for the front.






*******Man, I just can't decide on what tire to go with here. Has anyone out there run these tires on the same car to compare?

From what I read on MT.com you can't put the Street ETs on a Dyno. So I would need a separate set of rims to run those if I want to dyno at some point. :icon14:

The R888r's and NT01's are about the same price. Anyone has the facts on which tire hooks up better for drag racing?********

What were you running before the ET street? how do they compare?

I have read and watched a good amount of reviews. The R888r is the one hooking the power on the street. That is what I run. I run a 325/30/19 on an 11.5in wheel. It hooks great for a boosted car. If this is going to be a drag car, best beat is to downgrade the rear brakes to fit a proper drag tire/wheel combo. Do a search in the Track/Autocross/Drifting/Dragstrip section.

The ET Street SS is a great tire. I run the 285/18 on my N/A setup for the dragstrip.

I run the RE-11 325/19 Bridgestone for regular driving. They are noisy, hard and slick until heated up.

The MT have 60 dragstrip runs, 20 street pulls, 9 dyno pulls and about 3k street miles on them. They might make another 20-30 burnouts before they are finished.

So, very soft compound, not good for more than 5k miles IMO.

With your 285/18s, do you run into any issues? i currently run 275/45/18 when at the drag trip but i loose my speedo and abs due to the OD being to large for the ecu. What size side wall do you have?

Good choice. You may consider installing smaller rear brakes and smaller wheels in the future for Drag Strip action. A bias ply drag tire would work better to get your 60ft's down.
