Anyone find a set of quiet tires?
The RE050A stock tires are horribly loud. I am hoping a different choice in tires will quiet it down significantly. Anyone?

I have around 9,500 miles on the 050's and have somewhat gotten used to their noise. They are ok on smooth pavement, but the rough pavement on the secondary roads I drive is like steel wheels on concrete. I look forward to replacing them with Michelin PS2's. I did consider the PS all-season plus, but negative reviews on 350z's and a 370 swayed me to choose the PS2 when time comes due. Visit the Tire Rack and check the reviews, they are a great resource.

Hankook V12 Ventus are very quiet and have high ratings on performance. I have them on my car currently and love'em.

I currently have a set of Hankook V12, and it is much quieter. There's a stretch of road that's quite unbearable with the stock tires. However, I guess with the cold weather I can still break any of the tires loose lol.
Also, these tires don't seem to have the same cold weather symptoms of the stock RE050 tires. |
I concur with the two posts above. I also have Hankook V12s and they are much quieter than the OEM Bridgestone tire.

Meh the stockers on mine are already almost bald all the way around. Not uneven wear, no burnouts and acting stupid in the car. I noticed they were past the wear indicators at 8400 miles and still trying to figure out what tires to get next. And yeah, they get much louder as they wear out.
One person is telling me Nitto Invos while another is telling me "Just get some kuhmo's since you want new wheels anyway". So it's up in the air at the moment. The Potenzas are fairly rough on the ride but it's what is to be expected I suppose. I just don't see how people got 28K+ miles on them on a 140 treadwear rating. |
Nitto Invos are nice, but their price point is a bit high for me. I'm with the others, the Hankook V12s have treated me well so far.
