Mixing all-season & summer tires?
 

Looking at a rear pair of Continental ExtremeContact all-season tires to go along with the OEM Potenza summer tires in the front. Is this a bad idea or can I make it work? Pictures below to compare the tread patterns. The other financially comparable option would be getting a single Potenza rear tire. These two seem to be my only two choices as I've just been looking at used tires and need them fast. Which option would serve me better?

For context, I got a nail in the sidewall of one of my rear tires the other day. I would replace all 4, but I'm currently stuck (until June) in a suboptimal part of the US with absolutely awful roads, so I'm looking for a quick and cheap solution for the time being. Not trying to buy a brand new set only to run into another damn nail.

Could you make it work sure, but it won't be fun. Your messing up the balance and handling of the car significantly.

There are plenty of threads on here that have covered this. In general those that have done this end up complaining about the car having a "wandering" feeling that most find very unnerving.

If you’re using for a DD & not trying to NASCAR around curvy roads...you’ll be fine.
Especially in bad,rainy weather-as some counties choose this particular tire for Law-Enforcement.

Done it, and will not happen again.

I had this issue with the Continental DW because the sidewalls are very soft. I mixed pairs of MPSS and S-04 with no problem but when I added a pair of Continental DW to the mix it is unnerving. It wanders and the cornering transitions are unpredictable.
