Tires for Boosted Z
What's up Z fam,
There have been couple of threads but was looking for something more up to date as new tires come to market. That being said... I'm looking to purchase new tires for the Z. I'm currently at 573 WHP and 426 TQ. My main purpose for the car is little track use, little drag and weekend warrior. Basically it's doing highway pulls with friends. I was considering the following: Toyo R888r Nitto 05R NT01 Michelin Spot cup 2 thanks in advance! |
Any of those will work well until they don't. All of them have great grip and a short life if used as stated. NTO1s have great life for a track tire but will run out of grip pretty quickly if used for street duty as well.

If you're looking at tires like that, make sure you don't have to drive in anything but warm dry conditions. If the Z is a daily driver, get something like a PSS.

From personal experience the AD08's are great. The RE11's from what I hear/read are also top notch, and some claim slightly better noise characteristics on a street car compared to the AD08's.

thank you! |
pretty sure RE-11's are discontinued anyways.

The Michie PSS S4's are pretty damn sweet for a DD. I'm loving them.

The tires that the OP listed NEED heat to work. On the street. You don't get enough heat into them to work properly. He would be better off with the PSS, PSS S4, or RE-71R

I have experience with the Nitto 05R tires they have I would say above average tread life. I used these tires mainly for track and drag use and light street use and they are durable. I have always liked the Nitto 05R tires myself. Just depends on what you plan on useing them for.
