Finally a comparison test :)

Thanks for posting this comparison. I am somewhat surprised that not one Bridgestone tire was included in the testing.

Their S001 and S04's are dated. They're not competitive in the sense that these latest tires are that much better.

Yeah their latest sport tire is S007 which is only available in a few sizes in the states.

The latest psuedo Bridgestone/firestone max summer tire is the Firestone Indy500. Which is the Bridgestone ____ outside of US. I'm guessing they did this to breathe more life into Firestone in the states.

Looks like I have a set of those michelins in my future. The Continentals are about 15% cheaper... but the PS4S beats it in like every single test.

Come meet me somewhere. I can at least show you how the ECS's feel.

I think the idea is that spambot scrapers won't be able to decipher it.

I took my ECS's on the dragon while escaping Hurricane Irma running 285/35/19 square. My goodness these are incredible. Only only get understeer when braking and turning, the second I'm off the brake, the car just pulls into the turn. There's so much grip, absolutely neutral at the edge. I can get on the power earlier, brake harder, and corner at higher rates of speed. The stocks we're decent, but would push quickly. These gave me loads of confidence that they will just hold.

A couple of street bikes were trailing me and wanted me to lead. There's no way I was going to lose them, but they were loving the pace I was able to maintain. When we stopped, they said I was by far the fastest car they've seen that day. They thought maybe the car was boosted. Even being beat through the entire 12ish miles, they didn't get greasy, they didn't chunk, and picked up rocks like fly paper when they were warm. For a 'max' performance tire, these are definitely hitting above their market. The PS4S has to be a seriously good tire if I'm as impressed as I am about the ECS's. I paid just under $1k, so getting this caliber of performance would incline me to choose these over the more expensive PS4s unless the price spread is within $100.

A bit apples to oranges comparison:
I have the PS4S on my Z and the ECS on my Miata and from what I can tell the PS4S are a stickier tire.
The PS4S are really an all-around improvement on the PSS, which would be the closest to the ESC in my opinion.

They are still a very noticeable step down from 200 TW tires, but I've rarely felt that the tires are holding me back on grip.
