Alloygators (rim protection) ?

My step dad was watching tv and was watching a car show which featured rim protectors called alloygators. Anyone have any knowledge or experience with them?
I just watched a video on YouTube and it looks interesting.
They come in different colors to match the body, rims, or tire.

Worth? Or bust.. look it up or let me know what you think.

This goes in to the same category as the bed liner paint job.

Maybe clear or black on a black rim might not look too noticeable. I personally am not a fan of a colored lip on my wheels.

Looks cheesy to me. I prefer to pay attention to my driving and not curb my rims.

It does look cheesy. The only reason I was giving it a thought is because my Z came with marks on 2 of the wheels when I got her. They weren't too deep. I smoothed em out and painted so you can barely tell.
It's not like I'm gonna curb it but it's possible. If it did happen I was wondering if it's worth.

Looked up price: $150 per set.. That's about the cost to go get them fixed

Noooooooot worth

I've read a lot of reviews on these and I'd avoid them. MANY instances of them flying off at speed and causing damage.
There are other brands of the same type of thing with as many bad reviews.

Great idea but not going on my wheels.
