Opinion for color of wheels?

Here's some pics of my Z and the wheel I want to get. Let me know what you guys think! I'm thinking a gloss or matte black wheel..

I would prefer matte black over a glossy black, but I'm not sure if I like the one you posted. That's just my opinion. It's up to you in the end.

it can be hard to tell what you like and don't like without actually seeing the wheel on the car.. Makes buying wheels difficult lol. Some sites offer some sort of photoshop view but I couldn't find anything on these wheels.

Matte black just looks like brake dust to me.

But it's not my car.

My personal opinion doesn't mean much, but I have never liked black wheels on any cars. I like your stock Rays much better

There's a thread for that here. Cooltoy is the resident photoshop guru. He might be able to whip something up for you if you ask nicely :)

GetYourWheels.com: TSW Wheels TSW Bathurst Gloss Gunmetal Rotary Forged Wheels : Wheel and Tire Packages|Staggered Wheels|Custom Wheels|Luxury Rims found these baby's today. ******* love these ones. I just don't know how I feel about the gunmetal, I think I'd like black better

SOUTHZZ 02-01-2017 03:36 PM

black wheel look--overdone
Stay with a alloy look

OptionZero 02-01-2017 03:56 PM

Available fitments on that wheel are crap.

Gunmetal wheels on gunmetal car is stupid. Get some contrast. Black is safe. Bronze ok. Gold is better.

Which fitments are the best for a Z? And eh idk how I feel about gold. I've never been into that color of rim.

read any of the multiple wheel sizing threads

but starting point:

19x9.5 +22 front, 265/35/19
19x10.5 +12 rear, 305/30/19

this is a conservative fitment that will fit anything, clear anything. It will not be flush, as even a little bit of camber will give you a crapload of additional space, particularly in rear

a good aggressive fitment to me would be something like 20x10.5 +24 front and 20x12 +20 with 285/30/20 and 325/25/20, suspension arms and coilovers required. Ton of tire (basically GTR level) and good stance.

if you are ok with stretching tires a bit more i'd go with something like 20x10 +10 and 245/45/20 and 20x11 +0 with 285/30/20. again arms and coils needed. Thats gonna look sweet though

if you go air suspension, all bets are off, anything is possible

as for color
if you dont like gold, a dark chrome would work. Anything to get away from boring *** silver or gunmetal on gunmetal.

Volk and Advan make some nice blues (F-zero blue or mag blue)

Bronze all the way

I thought this was the perfect flush fit

OptionZero 02-01-2017 04:55 PM

you can define "flush" however you want

thats not even close for me
