Great deal on Continentals!

I just purchased some Continental ExtremeContact DW(Dry/Wet) tires for my car(will provide link below). I was going to purchase some Mich. Pilot Super Sports for my car but the bargain found here was too great to pass up so I jumped on it. Tires were $780ish for a full set shipped to my work, versus the just shy of $1200 for the PSS(before I get flamed for buying the cheaper tire, my budget didn't allow for me to purchase the PSS). Read some great reviews on it for other applications and will report back here every so often with wear, traction, and other findings I discover.

My first time out with them was the drive home from having them installed at my work, which has been pouring the rain here in TN so the roads were perfect to do some sliding on but that's the thing... They unexpectedly held the road VERY well even being brand new with that slick manufacturer lubricant still intact. I tried break it loose in a corner leading to my home and it only broke loose for a second bringing the car back under control whereas with the worn Bridgestones I had got about 75% more of a power slide out of them. So for a first impression, color me impressed as I'm sold on their ability to retain traction in the rain.

Gonna drive them for 2-300 miles before I take them somewhere like the Dragon or Devil's Triangle(another local road unknown to many of those from outside the state that's known for being almost as hairy as the Dragon) and let that coating come off.

They're being phased out, so TR put them on sale. I managed to get a DT to match TR wholesale pricing without shipping on a set of 285/40/17 ExtremeContact DW and loaded with multiple end-of-year rebates (one from Continental, two from Car Care One card) with zero-percent, six-month financing. By the time everything was said and done, the rebates counted for a discount of over twenty five percent over wholesale pricing and installation-balancing was waived.

To top it off, at the same time, I told a friend about Continental sale and all the rebates. I armed him with TR wholesale pricing and he managed to snag over $400 in rebates for two sets of Continental tires (one winter set and one set of Continental ExtremeContact DW) along with the zero-percent. His total bill was under $1100 after tax. I was floored.
