Ladies and gentlemen, as some of you may already know, I have a set of 20" wheels that I just sort of had hanging around in the garage so I decided to throw them on the Z, even though I am not a huge fan of them. The offset is wrong and the tires are miserable, but, with a baby on the way, new shoes aren't in the budget right now, so I have spacers on the way, and some new Nitto rubber to hold me over for this year. That said, the one thing really holding me back is the finish; they are flat black and I really don't like it. I'm going to paint or powder coat them and I'm trying to decide on color. My gut is telling me a simple gloss black, but I'm also considering gloss black on the spokes with a solid red barrell to match the car, through I'm afraid it'll be tacky. Also considering a metallic gunmetal, among many other options. Attached is a pic from last season, also a photo of the wheel, and a rendering that cooltoy was kind enough to whip up for me (mind the two tone, also something I'm vaguely considering). Thanks in advance.

red cars and black wheels look ok... but looks plastishittted so might want to check out graphite, anthrasite, maybe even bronze.

I like bronze on red, but I feel like it looks better on a lightweight race wheel. Don't think it'd look right on this particular rim.

i actually like the matte black finish, but can totally dig wanting something that pops a bit more.

my two cents, since you said money is tight right now. if you are comfortable with a spray can, you can paint them gloss or semi-gloss black easily. since the wheel is black underneath scratches wouldn't be visible, and you can get a pretty durable finish. the key of course is prepping the **** out of them, scuff the surface and make sure they are clean.

flat black wheels are a huge waste of moneys imo

any car can have the same look with plastidip for $5

look for gloss black to stand out

Red on bronze ftw. red on black second choice red on white third choice

So far I'm leaning towards the gloss black. Still on the fence. The silver lining (if you an call it that) of winter here, is that's it's long. So, I have until early April to make up my mind and get it done.
