Powder coated wheel tire change

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about powder coating my stock 18 wheel but I have some questions before I proceed.

Once I get my wheels powder coated, would the process of changing tires peel/chip the powder coat? Can powder coat withstand tire change?

Thanks.

Depends on the installer. If you want to prevent chipping, tape the outer lip that should provide some protection.

Yeah, I'll give that a try. Thanks

I had my 18s powder coated satin black and tires installed at discount tire. They were careful and I had no scratches or chips. Powder coat is pretty durable.
