Cracked H&R spacer safe to use ???
Sup guys, trying to get opinions on whether Its safe or not to use a 20mm H&R spacer with a slight crack on the "hub centering" part. Attached are a few pics. I bought them used from a member on here and although he is willing to work with me trying to find another used set or loose 20mm h&r spacer (s) might take forever. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. I won't be tracking the car and Im probably only keeping them on for a few thousand miles.
Edit: I didn't buy them knowing one was damaged, he blamed it on shipping ect...either way it has been resolved he has refunded full amount and maintained good communication throughout the whole process. http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...241671313.jpeg http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...161671321.jpeg |
What on earth is the cause of that?
I blame it on shipping/poor packaging
I wouldn't install it on my car and that sure as hell doesn't look like it was damage while in transit.
Looks like it got hit with an hammer.
Ball pein hammer...
Why would you buy something like that? I wouldn't put that on the Z. Did you purchased it like that or what happened ?
Lol I didn't buy them knowing one was damaged who the hell would ? I bought them thinking they were in good shape ect..these were basically thrown in a box and shipped.only a little brown wrapping paper and that's it no bubble wrap ect..other 3 are perfectly fine
That was not done by shipping, I would not use it!! :twocents:
He agreed to refund me half so I guess I'll either order new ones or may go with z1 20mm and keep the other 2 h&r for the rear
I hope you took a REALLY good look at the rest because like everyone else has said that looks like it was done prior to shipping. Was the container damaged as well?
Nice paper weight!
I'm returning the front 2 and the other 2 seem 100% fine I've checked them over several times now....
I gave seller benefit of the doubt since he has been communicating back and forth since I received the package and he claims they left his possession 100% fine but the box they came in isn't damaged at all
H&R?
I would google and contact H&R with the pic and ask their opinion. They may be able to tell you what happened and advise you. I wouldn't use it but in your case I would value their input. I have consulted them about the studs on mine and they were very helpful.
That was clearly struck by an object and will not occur during shipment. Those things can get stuck on the hub. I say seller BS and would have returned it. Don't use it. You'll never know how metals behave under load, stress, and heat.
Thanks for the advice guys, he went ahead and refunded me full amount I'll be shipping them back monday. Axmea? You're right that's the reason I posted on here the damage doesn't look severe but I was doubtful on how they would hold up over time..
I want to go with z1 extended studs and slip on hubcentric spacer kits anyone have inputs on that ?
This what happen spacer got stuck he hit it with a hammer then he sold it to u. FIN.. U see the marks he hit that thing a few times, can't trust seller ever again shady shipping did it my a**
