Sidewall size vs comfort

I have a set of GTR wheels that need new tires fairly soon. Half because they have 3/32" and half because they're pretty uncomfortable which I'm hoping is just because they're the factory tires (run flats). Currently the front is 255/40R20, rear is 285/35R20. If I do the same sizes (not run flat) will I notice a noticeably better ride compared to one size down on the sidewalls to match stock diameters? (255/35/20 & 285/30/20)

I do rub a little bit over bumps so I definitely want to go back to stock diameter if possible, but the car does not feel nearly as good as it did with my stock 18s, which obviously will ride much better with their gigantic sidewalls

Never use Run Flat, these tyres are hard & heavy...also very expensive..also lack of choices..

Yea, they came with the wheels otherwise I would never spend the money on them. I just bought 255/35 and 285/30 tires, we will see how much better they ride next week.
