18x10 or 18x10.5 square for track

I am looking to buy new wheels and tires. Want to run a square setup with spacers in the rear. The car is no longer my daily driver and really only sees the track and fun runs.

Stock height for now. Planning on getting swift springs and eventually someday upgrade to kw v3.

Not sure whether to go with a
18x10 +30
or
18x10.5 +35
or even something else

Love the look and wish I could find something a little cheaper.

Flush is preferred, a tiny bit of poke is fine but I don't want to be sandblasting the side of the car.

First time buying aftermarket wheels and don't want to order the wrong ones. I don't even know where to start figuring out the tire sizing.

1 Attachment(s)
18x10.5 +15 with 20mm in the rear, go big or go home.

1 Attachment(s)
-2.9 front and -1.8 rear dropped and 1" or more helps to not rub or poke

Say I go with the 10.5, should I get a +35 offset or a +25. Which would be better with clearance.

Using Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit says vs a 18x10 +30

New Wheel is
+25 is 1.3mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 11.4mm more than before.

+35 is 11.4mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 1.3mm more than before.

I know guys who are running 18x11's on a 370z at the track and are enjoying the setup. I'm running 18 x 10 +25's, my wheels don't come any wider than that.

As a cheaper option (well, maybe not the tires themselves... but the wheels) I went with a set of 4 Rear OEM 370Z rays. 19x10 - fits on the front for me with a 295/30r19 R888. No rubbing with -2.8 camber front -1.8 rear.

I had thought about running 4 OEM rears, I even have 2 sets of the sports. I origanly bought the second set to put track and autocross tires on them and swap to a street tire at home, the track tire ended up staying on their the whole time.

What size tires are you guys running? I'm looking to run 275 or 285 square on a 18x10. What offsets would I need to clear the fenders?

Running 275 square on re71r's, only reason I stuck with that is because they don't make this tire any wider than that.

I could easily run 285's on a different tire. My offsets are +25 and I don't have any rubbing or clearance issues.

Yeah, that's me. I haven't switched because the RE71's are every bit as good a tire as the RC1's. Also, I bought those at the tail end of last season when the tire rules and contingency pricing with Maxxis was not yet in place. So I'm gonna ride these out till they die. Also I don't get penalized for running these tires because they meet the 200tw rating required for class 2

Any fender mods to run that setup?

andy_meng1024 05-22-2016 03:02 AM

I run 18x10.5 +22 square with 15mm spacer in the back. -2.5 front and -1.5 rear camber with no fender mod. Tire is 295/30/18 Cup 2. Everything clears and no rubbing in tight corners.
