Looking to buy the same setup, but wanted to get your final verdict on the purchase. Are you still 100% for this setup, or would you make changes? I have the same car (sport setup). Thanks!

I like the setup. However some say that my rims doesn't look at good as the other winter rims. So, if you want to save weight, go for my setup. Very lightweight. If you want the look (and slightly heavier rims), go with spearfish's rim selection. Love the Blizzaks though

Hey AK370Z, what pressure are you running on your Blizzaks?

BUMP for re uploading the video. My old channel was deleted.

Switching to winter set on Dec 5th. Possibly there's a AutoX event on the 4th :). Want to use the RAYS for that

ZedZed 11-29-2010 04:22 AM

Thanks a lot to you for the thread AK, it helped me a great deal to choose my winter setup!

I fishtailed like mad this weekend whilst on my summer tires, scared the bejesus out of me but I was lucky enough to control it before doing a 360° and possibly crashing. I'm still waiting for my rims to arrive to put those lovely winter tires on.

For people interested in winter setups, I chose the following:

Wheels: INFINY R1 8.5x18 5x114.3 ET35 67.1mm
Tires: 225/50 R18 99 V CONTINENTAL CONTI-WINTERCONTACT TS 830 P XL

Same rims and tires on front & back and I'll stick 32Psi just like AK.

Can someone answer this question? To elaborate, when I enter the vehicle into tirerack, only 19" and 20" wheels show up in the inventory for the 370z.

best winter wheels for the 370z are the stock 18's. find a set. they are 18" and they clear the brakes and you know they fit the car. get 245/45/18's all around.

Maybe, but that's going to be fairly expensive. Where can you even find a set of the stock wheels without tires? eBay/craigslist? My point is that people on this thread were saying tirerack will show you all the wheels that fit your car but when you select 370z you don't get any 18" options. I could just order 18"ers and hope they fit but it's a little unsettling.

wh1te370z 07-28-2011 09:36 AM

18's def fit on the car. many guys run them for the track. Including myself. it depends on the offset. My rims are 18x9.5 w a 35mm offset and clears the brakes by a decent amount. Do some reserch on the wheels before u get them. see if other people have put them on a 370z. you can def find a set of 18s. i payed 800 for wheels and tires. tires werent the best but i got a track day out of them.

its not expensive for the stock 18"s. Put up a wanted ad, say you don't care about tire life. Thats what i did and i got a set for pretty cheap. they weren't in the best shape (little bit of curb etc) but they were good, and it was nice knowing they fit perfectly.

toxik 07-28-2011 12:00 PM

stock 18's are also einkei's which are good strong quality wheels. they don't weight a lot and are less likely to bend/crack with winter potholes.

click through to the main tirerack.com page, then enter the 370z, and choose winter tires, then you are able to choose 18"

and they dont look terribly sunken in like all the other options. They are staggered wheels but you don't need to run staggered tires on them.

Drex 10-17-2011 11:44 AM

would it be worthwhile to maintain the staggered set-up on winter tires?

for example: 225/50R18 in front and 245/45R18 in rear

or just go square 225/50R18 all around?

Not really, no. Just run a square setup.

didymus 10-17-2011 01:08 PM

Plus you could rotate front/back if theyre square

i will run stock 18" wheels and LM60's on my G35C this winter. no reason to make the car look ugly just because it's winter. :D

get the staggered setup. tire is not going to wear that much anyway. :p

Losing the ability to rotate completely just for vanity's sake is silly lol

Abdullah 04-09-2012 01:13 AM

question to ak 370.. Do u have the sport package on the z? bcz i got a 370z with sport package and im looking for 18s that would fit with the bigger brakes.. so if u are these rims would be perfect.

Drex 04-09-2012 08:30 AM

go to tirerack, and when you enter your car, there is an option for the sport package, then it will only show you wheels that will fit.

diddy535 08-26-2012 01:40 PM

Went to tirerack and each of the wheels I search say they will not fit the 370, do they just not make them anymore? Looking for some cheaper winter wheels.

Guavazo 09-28-2012 06:26 PM

I believe the cheapest option on Tirerack for 370z w/ sports pkg is the Sports Edition A7. anyone know if its possible to get the WS70 work on the z? New England winter is Icy!

Mergnthwirker 09-29-2012 03:22 PM

I still think the best solution for winter is to get a set of the Base wheels & mount Blizzaks. Or just park the car for the winter and drive a beater. That's what I'm doing this year (so my Blizzaks and stock wheels are up for sale, hint, hint). The Base wheels DO fit over the sport brakes, and lots of folks with the base package upgrade their wheels so they are often available. I think the Nissan wheel quality is higher than many of the aftermarket winter wheel packages, so that would be my recommendation (which I took myself).

How is the LM-60 work for you in Snowy/Icy condition in your area? is there any condition during normal New England winter that you feel the LM-60 blizzards will not able handle other then the in the middle of storm.

Mergnthwirker 09-29-2012 11:33 PM

Well, it's hard for me to compare, since they're the only snows I've had on the Z. I use Dunlop SP Wintersport 3D tires on my Audi S4, and they are better in deep snow, but not as good on ice. But that car is AWD, so it's hard to know how much of the traction advantage is driveline vs. tire.

I've had one hard winter and one easy winter with the Blizzaks. In the hard winter, I drove a lot on snow-packed roads and found it pretty easy to break the rear end loose. But I had pretty good traction, and I always knew what was going on due to good steering feel and feedback from the tires.

They are still very wide tires, which is not a great advantage in heavy snow. Foolishly, I did take the Z on one snowboarding trip, and got stuck in the parking lot at the slope. But a few guys pushed me out and the rest of the trip was not bad, despite getting over 10" of snow over the weekend. So I'd rate them a B+

Thanks for your feedback! since the Z is the only Car I have, I'll just have to take it slow. one last question is there any other tire that is better Blizzarks LM-60 since the WS70 does not fit on the Z? Big Thanks!

In talking to the Tire Rack guys, they are very high on the Blizzaks for deep snow. My best-ever snow tires were Hakkapelita's, but I doubt there's a fitment for the Z, plus they were horrible on dry pavement. But when I lived in the snow belt in upstate NY, we'd get snow every week and they were excellent in deep snow. Gislaved's were good deep-snow tires too. Something about snow tires made in Nordic countries, I don't think anyone cares as much about getting deep snow performance right! I don't believe Tire Rack sells either of these, so they don't have comparisons.

If I were buying another set, I'd get the Blizzaks again.

Hope this helps.

KWZ 10-03-2012 09:22 PM

I am just about to purchase a setup from Tire Rack similar to AK370's, only with LM60's instead of LM25's. I was just wondering if the 225/50R18 will fit propertly on the TRMotorsport C2 18 X 8.5 wheels since the recommended rim width range is 6"-8"?

Hedrowin 06-14-2015 06:52 PM

thread revive

Hello,
I'm new to the forum and have a simple question. I just recently picked up a 2013 370z with sport and nav packages. I was wondering if anyone has installed the TR motorsport C2's on the 2013-15 models. I know they where slightly refreshed from 2012. I'm assuming nothing has actually changed from the earlier version other than cosmetics, but do the 18" TR motorsport C2 rims still fit over the sport breaks for 2013-2015? If so then i know what I'm going to do to get through the winter months. I don't car if the tires are recessed so spacers wont be required. Been driving rear wheel drive for 8 years in northern ny, so its nothing new to me. Thanks to anyone who can help with this question. :)
