Slip signal on high RPM
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...9f165e8849.jpg
After my Z recently got a new set of Ventus V12 EVO2 installed on its four wheels, now I often see an yellow slip sign at high RPM above 6,000~7,000 on freeway. Before this set I've run with Michelin PSS (2 times of full set) and I do not think I saw this yellow sign with them in the same situation. It has not rained here pretty for a while, so I'm sure that I drove on dry roads. Is this common and normal on other Zs with non-PSS tires ? or do I need new better ones.. ?? Personally I do not even expect Ventus to go like the PSS, but just am worried about this that it might be dangerous. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk |
If the light is coming on during hard acceleration, check the level in the brake fluid reservoir. Several threads on this.

It's not something you "get checked". Just look the next time you get in your car. |

It is very easy to open the hood and remove the plastic cover to view the reservoir. Make sure the brake fluid is filled to the max line. If not, just top it off as this is likely your culprit. |
Unfortunately V12's are NOT really performance tires.
They have crappy traction and are just popular because they are a cheaper alternative to RE050's replacement tires. They're meant for dd and some occasional spirited driving not more than that. |

Uhp is lower than Max Performance, which is what the SO4 and PSS is rated. It's pretty much the lowest tier of high performance summer tires. |

Ventus V12 EVO2 is max performance summer tire at tirerack.com  Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk |
It still isn't a very good tire. I have driven a few of my friends cars with them and have not been impressed.

I mean, when driving at average speed on local/freeway. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk |

Until now I've used two times of full PSS set, but I don't think I really need that expensive one. :o Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk |
V12s suck for performance IMO. As one of the few tires I've actually driven on a Z on a track :twocents:

Then why did you bring up uhp in your previous post? |

Is it above the full line, or at the full line? It needs to be a bit over full.

.. Sorry actually I did not sleep last night at all. I have no idea for what exactly I've posted. But I'm sure I still love you and my Z. hahaha    peace Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk |

So if the fluid level is ok, then it's something else. Can you feel the tires losing traction, or is it just the light popping up?

Just before I talked to a dealership staff, and he said he cannot know exactly why this happens because I am their first customer who put V12 EVO2 to 370Z. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk |
If the light is coming on and the tires aren't breaking traction it's not the tires.

One day before the new tire installation, I got a maintenance without problem. (new front/rear brake pad installed) I don't know what to do  Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk |
It may be the lubricant to release the molds on the new tires and when you floor it the sensors are going crazy causing the slip light. Give it a couple hundred miles to wear off and you should be good.

Wow!!! Your slip signal is way bigger then mine.

Also if your brake fluid is low there is a reason ....do not top off brake fluid ...check your pads front and rear they are probably low if the fluid is low. Or you have a leak

Yesterday night, I found out that this V12 EVO2 has better wet grip than dry one.
I tried full RPM at high speed on freeway (as like the same situation mentioned at my original post) after it had rained, and obviously it showed less slip warning signals. Interesting .. ^^ Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk |
