Correct tire size for Volks

I am contemplating getting some Volks (19x9.5 F, 19x10.5 R). What would be the best size tires to put on them given they are a half inch wider than stock? Will the stock tires work or will that stretch them too far and make them look smaller in diameter?

I won't be lowering the car and want to keep close to stock diameter. Any input would be appreciated.

255 & 285 would work

or get 265 & 305

That's what I was thinking.. 265/35 and 305/30. Pretty close to stock diameter. Thanks!

Looks like 255/40 and 285/35 have more tire choices and are a bit cheaper.. I'll look into those too.

Thanks again for the help

do you like beefy looking tires or just fitting tires??

I'm running 275s and 305s on mine.

I like the profile of the stock tires but want a more aggressive offset so the wheels stick out a little more flush with the fender. I think the 255 285 setup will do the trick!

No rubbing issues at all. There's actually room for a 285 tire on the front. But, my front wheel is a 35 offset wheel and not the more frequently purchased 22 . The difference in tire height is only .35" and 10 revolutions per mile so it hasn't caused any problems with my VDC.

by the way, if u end up doin 305/30 and 255/35, get pirelli's p nero or nitto tires

most other brands come in 305/25 and have to get 255/30's to match

phelan 11-16-2009 01:03 AM

i went 255 / 295

correct size would be 255/ 285 but I would go 305s and 275s
