Do I Keep Stock Wheels

So I'm taking my first dive into an aftermarket set of wheels for 2015 Z. Being that this is first time I'm doing custom wheels -- what's the normal practice with what folks do with their OEM wheels. Should I hang onto them for when the time comes to sell/trade the car?

Or since they only have 7,500 miles on them and are totally perfect/as new -- do I sell them?

Personally every time I've gotten a new set of wheels (an older upgraded set or stock) they've always can in handy and were there when I really needed them for whatever reason. I've done this for every car I've had. Don't know if that helps

I decided to keep my stock rays wheels just in case..

Some people sell them to recoup some of the money spent on new wheels and some for storage reasons, but there's no standard for this man, if you wanna keep them, do so and if not then kiss them goodbye, no harm either way.

As a general rule, I don't get rid of wheels.

IDK about anyone else but if it were me, I would slap on some drags and use them as my 1/4 mi set.

-Schitty roads with lots of construction, nails and junk? keep wheels.
-Have the space to store them? keep the wheels
-Plan to keep rims when selling car? keep the wheels
-Need extra set to tires? (drag, track day, ect) keep the wheels
-Uncertain of new wheel? Keep the wheel

-Need the $? Sell them
-Don't have space? Sell them
-Dont care for then? Sell them

-Undecided on what to do? keep them and decide later
-Have extra car that they fit on and would like upgrade? Swap them out.

if ur going to sell car in next few years keep them, good for resale for the purists.

Thanks for the feedback -- guess I will wait and see. I know I'm not even going to be able to fit the current four wheels in the car from the shop. So going to have to figure out just how to get those back to the house to begin with. Not really sure I want to store a set of tires -- but we shall wee...

Also nice to see posts from a couple fellow Houston, TX folks...

Depends if you have the base or sport wheels in my opinion. I had base wheels and sold them to at least pay for the tires on the new wheels. If you have sport or nismo wheels then I would definitely keep them.

As stated earlier this comes down to personal preference, and I agree a lot of people sale there stocks to recover some of the costs associated with upgrading or switching to a rim of their choice/taste.

I personally love to keep my stocks as I am a big fan of keeping it OEM and having the option to switch things up. Having them around is a plus if you can afford it both financially as well as the storage space.

I sold my stock sti wheels when I got volks because of space and ended up having the car totaled a week later and only got half the money I paid for the volks, I make space now.

i always have at least 2 sets per car. anything can happen in an instant, best you always have a backup plan.

Thanks again for the input everyone. Just got my shipping notification from GetYourWheels on my AG M550s -- they will be here Wednesday. Seeing as how there is no room in my garage or attic -- I will likely be selling the stock wheels; which are the base model wheels. If I had a sport, I'd definitely hang onto them.

Now I just gotta get to Discount Tire to get the new tires ordered...

i have kept my stocks and this week I needed to get the car repaired/repainted and the shop asked for the stock rims so the aftermarket didn't get sprayed on accident. Always a good idea to have a backup set of wheels.
