Warped tire...Help ?

So im driving home from a trip this past weekend out in the country (PA) and on my way home my car starts to violently shake at 30mph and more so at higher speeds i pull over and see no issues or problems of the sort. I decide to drive a lil further and check my mirrors...my left rear is wobbling like crazy so jack the car and take it off. The inside of the ties has 2 indentations and a bubble that goes half the length of the tire. All this is on the inside wall? i didnt hit anything so im thinkin maybe its a defect in the tire? Any help would be great....

Should i purchase a new tire or go to dealer or call Advan? I take the bus everyday to work so its not a huge rush...

FuszNissan 10-26-2009 01:47 PM

Sorry to hear that, the dealer can assist. The warranty for the tire is directly through Advan, and being that it's a wear and tear part they may not replace it under warranty.

I would call the dealer first, (nissan may step up)if they can't help, then call Advan.

kenchan 10-26-2009 02:19 PM

yah, i would contact the dealer first too and have them deal with Yokohama. it shouldn't bubble like that. wat was your psi at the time?

FuszNissan 10-26-2009 02:20 PM

It it is a bubble on the side like half of a ball look, typically it hit or ran over something.

kenchan 10-26-2009 02:25 PM

yah, a bubble "half the length of the tire" ... that's like a bananna. never seen that before. hahaha.

Wash the tire/rim before you send pics to Yokohama

What's wierd is that it's on the inner side of the rim. Usually its on the outer side and the tire company can say you hit a curb or something.

How many miles on 'em? Even if they're considered "wear & tear" items/parts, they should have some kinda warranty. Give it a shot, dude, you may be in for a surprise!

racerxj17 10-27-2009 02:30 PM

i had a defect go wrong with the tire on my last truck. they were also RA 050A tires (like my car came with). basically, along the tread from left to right, they had minor cuts like i ran over something sharp. i didnt, and it was on all four tires. it wasnt a saftey concern, but it was still a defect. my tires had 16k on them (longer than they should last) but i still got all four new tires on, minus the mounting charge. it was great!

AK370Z 10-27-2009 03:05 PM

HOLY smokes! that's crazy! Hopefully everything gets resolved quickly.

I'm just curious, what's the tire pressure on that wheel?

sw1318 10-28-2009 09:54 AM

Hey AK, what do you think is the max safe pressure for these 18" advans?

i have mine set cold @ 36-37psi

zcoupe09 10-28-2009 10:42 AM

it was around 36-37 psi...im waiting for a call back from advan and im gonna go to Nissan this weekend...due to the fact i work in the city all day mon-fri

zcoupe09 10-28-2009 10:58 AM

im bringing the tire to a Yokohama dealer later today and going to have them inspect it...Nathan from Advan is handling my case..great guy..hopefully its warrantable.

why does most like running a few psi over the recommended 35...

whats the benefit...

kannibul 10-28-2009 12:51 PM

Wow...that's a serious tire fail.

I guess it all comes to the feel of the car, but after testing all different pressures, I’ll probably stick with the recommended 35psi.

yeah, 35 seems fine...plus the air heats up with the constant tire rotation as well, giving an extra lb or so...

zcoupe09 10-29-2009 09:52 AM

i run a lil higher in cold weather...spring/summer/fall i have it at 35psi
