Please help PSSs or SO4s?

I have narrowed it down to these two. I have a 2009 sport touring 19" Rays. I had Conti DWSs all season for the last year to get through the winter here in Northern Delaware. Now that it is late March I want to say the hell with being sensible and get the best summer performance tires I can get. I am going to go with F. 245/40/19 and R. 285/35/19. This would make me slightly wider in the rear then the stock size. BTW I don't want to use any spacers. I have priced them both at the local NTB. The PSSs will run me $ 1336.00 and the SO4s will run me $ 1000.00. I don't want to shop around for prices because I know the manager at my NTB and he has cut me a lot of breaks on things over the years. Both are available this week and I need to pull the trigger on which one. Are the PSSs $ 300.00 better than the SO4s?

Thanks

If you want the best you can get, go with the PSS. If you want to save some money the S04 are a great choice.

As far as your stagger... IMO 245/285 is way too much and will give you a lot of understeer. On the stock sport tires I like 265/35 and 285/35.

A lot more goes into this decision - what do you use the car for? Any track/autocross planned? There are much better summer tires for less money than the PSS unless you just want to daily drive the car.

S04 ..do 285/35/19 on the rears

:iagree: I have 245/285 on mine with S04 and have no issues and feel plenty of traction. Although Its a DD and I don't track it or anything.

Should I just go with the stock 245/275 set up? That would make the set cheaper. How wide of a footprint are the PSSs compared to other tires?

Also I will not be doing any tracking and the Z is my DD.

If you just DD, stick with stock sizes. I would go with the S04s in your case.

Bruh, PSS - Why is this even a question?

not the S04. 275/35/19's are super narrow for some reason.

get the nismo size 285/35/19 if s04's.

I've ran both. S04 were almost 300 bucks cheaper than PSS so I run those now. 265/285 combo. On the street theres no really big difference.

Really I think for OP's needs just daily driving, I'd go with the S04's. :)
