Garages in Phoenix, AZ????

Hi all, I just purchased my first used 370 a couple of months ago and am looking for a legit mechanic/body shop to have look at my car and do some work soon. First thing I need to take care of is the excessive wear to the inside tread of the front tires. The car is dropped on Eibach springs and I'm not sure what the camber settings are at the moment but i need to get this corrected. Looking for a reasonably priced shop that is honest to deal with. Any suggestions?

I deal a lot with vivid racing... They are a sponsor on here too. Always been great to deal with.

Sounds like who ever bought the springs didn't buy a rear camber kit which is almost a must if you lower your car. The SPC Rear Camber arms are only I think like $150 and are what you'll need as the stock camber arms are not adjustable enough to correct the negative camber you have.

As said before, look into Vivid Racing. Good shop, ask for Phil.

Don't mind this guy, he doesn't want to mod his Z... Unlike all of the other cars he's had... :rofl2:

hello i just got my z and i am barely moving to mesa AZ and my first mod on my z is the exhaust, i guess the only question is, is there any laws that i should be aware of, here in texas inspection sucks on us cause you cant run test pipes and stuff do to the fact that it doesnt pass inspection, is it the same over there in AZ

vividracing 07-05-2011 01:32 PM

Nope, we don't have inspection here. Besides, if we did, you could always find a crooked inspection tech. It happens all the time in Texas!

The only thing you have to worry about here in AZ is emissions. Test pipes might cause you to fail, I'm not sure. Basically if you have no CELs and you're not running rich, you're probably going to pass. Or you can keep your OEM catalytic converter and slap it on for emissions every 2 years.

This is what most people do... (even in TX)

What kind of custom work are you looking to get done?

marrim 09-04-2011 04:12 PM

Hang body kit, wing, fenders, and paint

Either Intense or Vivid are good shops to go to. I haven't had the chance to meet any of the new people at Vivid, but they've been very helpful.

For paint work, I was referred to Elite Automotive Finishes in Mesa and I must say, damn good work goes on there.

marrim 09-04-2011 04:21 PM

A friend of mine suggested Finshing Touch in Fountain Hills
I tried to call intensepower but the body guys were not in. The guy I talked to told me it would take 6 weeks and that he would have the body guy call me back. I thought that was a little ridiculous. BTW they never called me back so I'm looking elsewhere.

I keep getting mixed reviews with vivid. Some say there great. Others say there horrible.

I don't think intense has a lot of people in the shop, and even there presence here has kinda dropped off. But they usually work on big projects I've seen.

As for Vivid, I've heard the same, so I dunno. It really sucks there's no shop on the west side that deals with Z's. Honestly if either one of them would open up here on the westside, they would make a killing on the monopoly lol

i wanna know any decent good price body shop around phoenix or glendale area,,i would like to get my headlight painted and other body work!! thx

marrim 11-03-2011 01:53 AM

Still have gotten my parts yet so put looking for a body shop on hold but I'm still not sure where to go. I have have had 2 cars repainted at shops due insurance related items and both shops did great work. But I not sure if they do custom work.

I will say this. This forum does support there vendors here but I have seen way too many of these vendors not realy supporting the forum.

I would suggest looking into local car clubs and seeing who they have used. It doesnt even need to be a Z club. I have a buddy who is part or AZ rotory club, and another for a rsx club. Get suggestion for real people that have had real work done.

XwChriswX 11-03-2011 03:39 AM

For paint/body work, I'd recommend Elite Automotive Finishes from my sig. Located in Mesa, Chris is a great guy and did an awesome job on my project.
