I used to live in Scottsdale, AZ for a short while with work. The weather made it a great place to drive when I owned a 350Z. In Canada, my 350Z was parked all winter...

With all the speed cameras they put up here, I may be parking the Z for other reasons. :shakes head:

I agree but thats not for me...all the salt and sand on a nice car. I would rather drive an SUV in the winter here...the fact that I try to go skiing every weekend might have something to do with that. :)

Ya i hear ya. I do cry a little when I see how dirty my G gets. but hey I love to drive it too much. 18" winter wheels and I am good to go.

I haven't owned a sports car since I sold my 350Z in late 2005; I traded it on an Xterra which I still own, in addition to a sportbike. Well, I can attest that I stopped getting speeding tickets after trading the Z on an SUV!

Now I have the sports car bug again, so plan to get a new Z and will risk the speeding tickets. We have some photo radar here too.

Are there cameras on all the freeways now- the 101 or 202? I was on those quite a bit in addition to the I-10.

Slidefox 01-03-2009 12:02 AM

The 101 in scottsdale, and the upper west side.... All over the I-10..... All over the 51. The 60, and the new 202 don't, but they put those stupid mobile radar trucks on the side of the highway now...

That's too bad. I lived in Old Town Scottsdale and worked in North Scottsdale near Greyhawk GC so was on the 101 loop a lot...I remembered everyone going about 85mph on the 101, but those days must be over now. :(

Slidefox 01-03-2009 12:11 AM

Pretty much.... The stretch of the 101 from Indian Bend to Scottsdale Rd is the main reason we got the cameras in the first place. They were calling it "Arizona's Autobahn".

frost 01-03-2009 01:30 AM

What upsets me the most is people don't even do the speed limit when going by them. They have to do 10 UNDER the limit, as if they are going to get points for doing less than the speed limit.
If you live in the valley and are disgusted by photo radar, go to camerafraud.com and be part of the solution. With enough signatures, we can get it on the ballet.

Slidefox 01-03-2009 01:32 AM

^^True... You will even see people slamming on there brakes in order to avoid the cameras, and then speed up just after them.
