Cactus Tint on Scottsdale Rd near Signature Audio.

They did his GTR, and so far it's been superb quality from what I've seen.

I'll look into it. Just want the bumper done to protect it. Hood already has enough chips.

Also, anyone here have HFC's? I'm thinking about a set of Berks and wanted some local opinions and possibly hear what they sound like in person...

I have Berk HFCs and Berk CBE on mine.

I really like the whole setup. It's not very loud (from what people tell me) just cruising around, but then roars when you get up above 4k.

I do get a CEL (P2098) randomly, but it will either go away or I can clear it. Surely a tune would resolve that completely.

There is a tinny/metallic sound to them until they warm up, but people have told me that they couldn't hear it when I got on it - it's only from right inside the cockpit. There's also a hiss (as with most HFCs I've read) under deceleration, which doesn't bother me a bit.

Hopefully some time we will be able to get a few of us together. I know over the last two years I have been dying to hang out with other Z boys (or girls). Car still doesn't look like much but it's what's on the inside that counts hahaha.

I think once it cools down slightly and the threat of haboobs (not me, those poser dust storms) goes away we should be able to get something together.

Also, it's elections time, so I never know when I'm working late, Saturdays, or a night shift.

pfdaxe 07-26-2014 08:24 PM

I'd like to hear your HFC's H-Boob. I'll do the install myself if I do get any.

Haboob 07-28-2014 08:05 AM

Sure thing. When do you have time? I know you have the weird FD schedule. :D

Good question. I'm waiting for my Amuse front bumper to arrive and GT-R hood vents, then I'll cruise to Pavillions. My free time is so limited. Prob hook up with you and some others over there :tiphat:

I can always just throw a clear coat of plasti-dip out of my gun or glossifier over the top of your amuse bumper. It'll act like a clear coat/bra, probably cost you $60 or so depending on how much dip I need to use. Might be something to consider though. Clear Bra will probably cost you around $200+ or so?

My dip has saved my car from rock chips for months now!

It does sound really quiet rolling around, but when he gets into it, the sound picks up more then I thought. His setup is not obnoxious by any means but more clean/exotic sounding IMO

Thanks Nick. Something to consider for sure. Does it have a good gloss? I may have to see some examples. My front being black shows every damn little mark.

I checked with Cactus Tint. $450 just for the bumper. Seems a bit steep, but probably since it's located in N. Scottsdale (Airpark). I need to find someone that does it on the side

Ah, sorry.

I paid $750 for bumper, 1/3 hood, 1/3 fenders, mirrors, and that small area just in front of the rear wheels (rocker panels?).

But, the front bumper has been penetrated so I'm still upset about it (over a year ago now, lol). I know it won't survive everything and it was probably a perfect shot, but still... I guess it's the breaks of DD'ing the Z. But if you want to check them out, it was Brian @ ProtectAShield: http://protectashield.com/

Although now that I am looking at the site it says 5 year manufacturer warranty... I should give him a shout.
