Pahaha! It just dawned on me why all the dogs love my car.

lol, never did I think it'd be quiet, but it has surprised me a little. aside from the tires, it's been fairly quiet until this buzzing started and now that I have been turning the stereo up, I have more interior rattles on some bass hits.

ah well...the new-ness could only last so long, right? hehe

Chuy 01-21-2014 07:31 PM

Not to change the subject about buzzing.

But there is something about soap suds flowing with the curves of a Z. Also I compounded, polished and wax baby girl with this nice weather today.

If you guys need a factory master nissan tech let me know...he's at the 104th autonation nissan and will work Saturdays for cash. Just like my pulleys...chuck had them in in no time and has all the things needed and spec sheets to get the job done...he'll be putting in my nismo cold air intake, z1 2 piece rotors and oil cooler before we head back to the track!

Shadezz 01-22-2014 11:44 AM

I had a bit of rattle from my exhaust hitting my support beam underneath the seating area after a few track days....chuck put some spacers on and she doesn't make any rattles now...other then that my interior noise is silent with the continental DW's.

I also love hand washing my z...nothing like the curves on it. Makes you appreciate the style and design that went into her. :tiphat: :nutswinger:

For my test pipes I had Drift Factory do mine, $150. Reading story after story I said **** it.

Shades after installing my oil cooler and Greddy oil pan I would do the same also if you could check with your mechanic to see what he charges for brakes lines they are Z1 premiums and check my exhaust.

I have access to the car craft center at Ft. Carson if you wanna try and do them yourself jskracht. If you wanna hear them hit me up 719360410nine

I'd be interested in them as long as everything I need is there. Is this everything you have or is it just the pipes themselves?

Surfdog and Chuy do you have any insight in how difficult test pipes would be to install? I hear those demon bolts are horrible... Would I have to pay someone to do it?

here's the photo i grabbed on my way to work the other day. so nothing but the pipes them selves. anyway just let me know if you're interested.

Shadezz had his ss brakes done by a dealer buddy I believe, but the install is SUPER easy. (the hardest part is jacking standing all 4 corners, which probably is not strictly necessary) I put on my lines then bled the brakes (you need a buddy to do it). 5000 miles later absolutely no leaks or problems. The brakes feel great. Plenty of DIY vids around the forum. If you have a buddy it is probably about one easy hour. Just be careful to not strip your hardware (use good quality wrenches is all)

I asked some guys at brakes plus if they wanted to put them on, but they wanted 200 bucks!!! Screw that! I think Shadezz might know a guy that can give you a better deal...

One bit of advice, if you are bleeding the brakes anyhow, take the opportunity to replace your brake fluid with RBF600 (it is much better/safer at high temps like you might encounter at the track) get 2 bottles to be sure you have enough, and have some extra for later top offs.

Chuy 01-23-2014 11:14 AM

I went with Super Blue brake fluid.

I think I jinxed myself as I got the check engine light late last night, hit up Auto zone and they confirmed its the caat code, I dont know if it was from the cold. I read usually you get another code for exhaust leak, either way I'm putting her up today and take a look. If anything unfortunately I'll have to save for UpRev.

I like the design of those test pipes since they have the side mount.

I probably should have just said DOT 4 race fluid. There are a bunch of brands and I don't know enough about them to recommend one over the others. The guys at MAC Auto sports use RBF600. They haven't steered me wrong yet.

OEM fluid can boil at track temps and cause total brake failure. I understand that The "Road and track" magazine guys crashed a press Z when they first tested it from that problem. I suppose any high temp fluid will prevent this problem. I should always pre-empt my posts with. "I definitely am no expert, but..."

That super blue stuff seems pretty good!

Chuy, did you do the lines yourself?
