I would be very interested in picking up one of these. My alarm has gone of twice when leaving my keys in my pockets.

I am looking for something like this, but with carbon fiber replacing the enclosure (lined with velvet), Nappa leather strap, titanium fittings, and the "Z" logo in platinum.

I have been looking for this fob cover as well...ive looked eveywhere, even the bay, but no luck sofar...

What's your thoughts on these key fobs in the 370z store?

I like the choices at the 370z store but I really like the one's AK is asking about. I had seen them in an earlier thread and couldn't find them. I want one! AK370Z, if you find out where to order, please let me know.

I am not too crazy about those ones. Those are just key ring. The one I showed is a cover but act as a key ring. It serves dual purpose ;).

Are you buying the heated protector version with the weather you're having? ;)

The issue I see with this key fob protector is that it is not a hard-case, and you will still have the same problems of accidentally activating the buttons, just not as frequently.

They also have a bunch of other stuff like a Fujitsubo exhaust. Oh yeah. They have parking sensors which seem pretty nifty. Sports horn is overpriced though.

The Z Store is looking into some of these accessories. The currency exchange is patently absurd.

I am going to pm our sponsors and see if they can get it for cheaper for you guys.

japan parts price is actually like 15-20 bucks higher than what the japanese nissan stores have them at. i believe japan parts list the price at 7000 yen or so but the nissan store list it at only 5500 yen.

i do order stuff from japan some times and i just went with an agency in japan where they purchase and charge you for shipping and handling. after all the handling charges, it came out to be about 7094 yen. don't know about the shipping charges yet but the agency uses fedex so might be cheaper than 1325 yen or whatever japan parts are quoting, at least the final price. and fedex delivers within 2-5 business days. so i'm probably looking at 10 business days max.

update - i just received e-mail confirmation that the fob protector has been shipped. i'll probably receive it soon.

I've seen these floating around. Good for those that just want to protect the key fob from scratches.

Soft vs. Hard?
 

The issue I have with both the factory and aftermarket cover is that they are both soft-shelled. My wife tosses her Intelligent Key into the abyss of her purse, I, into mostly 501's. In both instances, these cases provide no protection against inadvertently pushing buttons. Hard-case is the route to go.

okay, i've imported things from japan. why do we HAVE to import? because for some reason almost 99% of japanese products that are sold online in japan will only to within japan. errr....

so you have go through any agency where they will locally purchase the item or order them from any japanese website, auction site, etc. after they receive the item, they will ship it to you.

one thing bad about these services is that they charge you for bank fees and commission fees. and of course, there is a shipping charge.

i had some left over credit from my last purchase, so i bought the fob protector at for like 70 bucks USD after all said and done.

update on my status order from JAA aka Japan-Auction-Agency - i placed my order on 3/06/10. the item was shipped out on 3/10/09 and on 3/11/09 it's already in the US Customs department. i'm probably looking at the end of this week and it's in my hands.

for me, when i want sometimes, it's all about the time. i saw the 10-15 days and i was kinda turned off. i needed this sucker NOW!!!!

Seventy-five bucks, plus shipping, for an effing fob cover! I'll wait for Semtex's Fobgina Cover (the one that matches his shifter knob) before I buy one at that price, or until I visit Japan again.

I wish I knew how to sew. I'd roll these stupid fob covers out for $60 a piece and laugh all the way to the bank. It looks cool but $75 for two small pieces of leather sewn together is nuts.

I've got to agree!! Thats just rediculous. Actually now that you mention it, I got a wife that can sew pretty damn good. I might have to tap into those skill before I spend $75 on this
