yep I do this using my cheap Asus vivo tab smart with 1.8ghz atom processor.. works well :D
Yea, but your intel atom is x86. I believe Martin's tablet is arm architecture so the fact that it's running under windows 8 on ARM is good.
I bought the tablet brand new for $229 plus tax so about $250. I just found this on deal on a re-manufactured one for only $160, in case anyone wants one to pick one up.

I had this running on my Asus Vivotab Smart as well til I gave that tablet to the wife. Though a condition of her getting it was that I could use it for Uprev any time I needed.. haha |
disregard everything I said, pretend I wasn't even here :D
The tablet is less than a 1/4" too wide for the cubby hole but it will be at a good angle for driver to view, height is dead on I'll snap a pic.
I use this for ecutek in my car. Great little tablet if you have multiple uses for it. Plays most of the windows 8 app store games. Also supports XDSC so you can add another 128gb of storage for cheap.

That I am not sure on, will have to research or find a way to turn it on or off through USB

I'm no computer guy but the tech specs lists MicroUSB port. |
You have to get an male micro USB to female USB adapter.

Just look for a USB OTG cable (On The Go).
Yup. Found one for $4.29 shipped on prime
Dell now has the 64gb refinished for only $199
And the 32gb was about 150-160
I got the 32GB refurbished one for $159 and for some reason it came with a 16GB microSD in it.
that's awesome someone must have left it in there! I wasn't as lucky!

crap they sold out: Dell 8" Venue 8 Pro Atom Quad Core 1 33GHz 64GB Windows 8 1 Tablet Dual Cameras | eBay
maybe try emailing the guy. That is the same company I bought the 32gb last week, the 64 wasnt available then. |
Damn...I'll have to continue to look. I'm definintely getting this setup now that I'm boosted. I'm tired of dragging my 17" laptop out to the car for code checking and logging.
Went ahead and bought one off ebay. Refurbed with case and usb adapter.
I'll be ordering a sample w rammount since my job has an account w them also ill post back
I just got so tired of logging with my bog *** laptop. This will be so much easier
Tablet showed today. Unfortunately I read wrong and it came with a case and a SD card, not the micro usb I thought. No worries $8 overnight shipping with Prime and Amazon will have me one tomorrow!
I went with the 64 gb well cause it was only another $40 |
nice, yeah the 64gb wasn't available before for the refurbished model I got the 32gb then next day it came up for sale on ebay fail! Still happy with it, the tablet is about 1/4" too wide for the cubby hole, I will remove the back end and see if I can make it fit

Retarded question. I'm trying to pick something up to tune with. A tablet with windows 8.1 should work right? I don't think that windows rt works. I'm trying to make sure I don't waste some money.
make sure it has a usb port a full size is preferable but you can get an adapter for the mini.
Most tables I found don't have full usb port, so ordered a mini adapter for few bucks only. U dont want windows RT, Windows 8.1 works perfect.
I ended up picking up a 2nd cheap netbook asus touch screen only $249 at best buy, runs windows 8.1 |
I have a similar setup with a Dell Venue 8 running full 32bit Win 8.1...can confirm Ecutek works perfectly through it. Using an OTG mini to full usb and then a usb 2 port splitter to power the OBD cable and the key fob.
I went out and bought me a Toshiba Encore. I haven't played with it yet, but I have downloaded Osiris.
