UpRev question (what can I do)

Basically, I have all the mods listed in my sig and already have an up rev tune from a tuner a decent ways away (and honestly I don't know if they are still open).

I have some CEL codes I would like to disable (Cat related) or possibly get the car flashed back to stock (for when I sell it). I've also considering going from test pipes to high flow cats.

From what I understand, the tune itself is in the cable. So in this situation where I can't contact the tuner (or let's say I moved to another state) what could I do to get this done. Would I have to spend $500 for uprev osiris just to do this? If so, it's probably a better idea to just throw the stock exhaust on and trade the car in.

You need to get your hands on a reflash cable. The $500 one comes with the $300 tune license, which you already have. So ideally you want to find a used Cipher cable (used to go for $200 new but unfortunately uprev quit selling them) or buy a tuner add on cable (tuner version cable with no license) for $400, which would give you the full tuner kit.

then you would be able to reflash the ECU back to stock when you wanted to, as well as reflash updates in the meantime. HOWEVER your tune is saved on the tuner's computer so you would need to get ahold of them to get a copy of it.

seymore4, there's no way to extract the osirus.rom from the ECU itself? I got my ROM from the tuner, but I assumed you could extract the ROM from the ECU.

Nope. Gotta have it on your laptop. As long as they didn't lock your tune you should be good to go... just need to get your hands on a reflash cable ;)

^^ thanks for the info! It's a bit confusing when you get the flash service from a tuner and you want to upgrade to another version. I don't know what license I have, I assume it's the standard.

As you can see, I do a lot of assuming :D.

Well most tuners don't make it easy to understand either... it can be pretty confusing.

To put it in a nutshell all the licenses are identical and work the same regardless of how you get it. The only difference is in the cables. Standard or tuner.
