Service engine soon! Uprev??!?!

So i was driving around the other day and the car felt sluggish. My service engine soon light went on. Took it to nissan and they changed the A/F sensor. Guy that works there thinks that the UPREV tune may have something to do with it.

Now 2 weeks later my SERVICE ENGINE SOON light is back on!!

Anyone else with similar issues?

I also have a Stillen CAI, Berk HFC, Ark Exhaust installed.

This the pic of invoice from Nissan

Uprev did NOT cause this. The dealership is full of $hit.

The two leading causes for the the dreaded P2A00 code is a leak in the intake piping after the MAF sensors or an exhaust leak before the primary O2 sensors.

Did you tell them you have a tune?

Yes, told them so they wouldn't reflash the ECU. Cool with the service advisor there so wasn't worried he wouldn't have warranty cover it.

So going to my mechanic and sealing the leak should get rid of Service Engine Soon light??

Very cool... I was just curious.

IIRC This code takes a "drive cycle" before it resets (assuming the problem condition went away). Unfortunately I can't remember what constitutes a drive cycle.

Take it to autozone have it diagnosed the code for free. It could be an exhaust leak had mine light up. Had to replace blown defective gaskets in the HFC. Problem solved.

Btw is it at blinking engine service light or a solid light on?
If is a blinking light you do have a misfire on one of your cylinder. That could be a reason for it being sluggish. You need to bring it back to the one who did your tune.

I had this same issue after I got my tune. What happened was during the tune one of the gaskets blew causing an exhaust leak. Have a look at the down pipe flanges with either a feeler gauge or a pick tool of some sort to check for an exhast leak between all flange gaskets. Give that a shot the P2A00 can be troublesome to diagnose but give these steps a shot

Check for the following
-exhaust leak
-intake leak
-injector problem
-O2 or AF sensors (these have been ruled out)

Buy a standard cable and diagnose it yourself by reading all the cipher data logs

Oh.. now my clutch is starting to stick at the halfway point... had to put my foot under it to pop it out a few times.. did i buy a lemon 370z?? FMLLLLLL

Zoren 370 08-20-2013 09:46 PM

Oh no that's the Csc failure in the clutch. Use the search feature tons of information on it here. Is your light finally fixed?

pseftis 08-21-2013 10:02 AM

Slave cylinder is being replaced under warranty. The light has the same code popping up when plugged in but dealer said he can't find any leaks whatsoever. They're going to do some test driving to see if it lights up again before I get it back tomorrow.

Zoren 370 08-24-2013 01:14 PM

Check the gaskets of your HFC. Nice to hear they are replacing your slave cylinder. Nissan should call for a recall for that. IMO
You should have gotten a light weight clutch disc to go with your Csc replacement if the dealer would be fine with that.
