My Initial Impressions of EcuTek/Dynotronics

Received my ProECU Kit last week from Dynotronics. Currently on my 2nd adjusted file into my ECU. My impressions so far as follows.

1. The improvements so far have been extremely satisfactory. I am enjoying my Z more than ever. My hat is off :tiphat: to Joe at Dynotronics for making such huge changes so early.

2. So far many parameters have been adjusted which result in much improved throttle response, car is more responsive in general, and power seems to generate with less effort than before. Not to mention, the increase in HP and Torque is very nice indeed. The car just feels/behaves better overall. Again, very pleased with the results so far. This only after two adjustments.

3. Looking forward to each and every update as the car's tuning continues to evolve.

4. Joe at Dynotronics is Grade A type Professional all the way. He has taken the time to answer all my questions. I have had several and I know he is extremely busy. He always takes the time to fully answer anything I have thrown at him. Although the 370Z platform for EcuTek is relatively new, he has been tuning vehicles and in the business for over 20 years. I feel very comfortable and confident placing the tuning of my precious Z in the hands of such a professional.

According to Joe, EcuTek is planning on releasing many special features in the weeks/months to come. I am excited to be a part of this and look forward to the below as a start:

A. Map Swithcing
B. ECU Based Traction Control
C. Launch Control

I have been told all of these will be coming. I believe Joe and EcuTek will deliver on their promises. :excited:

Highly recommend EcuTek and especially Joe at Dynotronics. If you can afford this, do it. You and your Z will be very happy.

I'll second having a very pleasant experience with Joe. He's courteous, to the point, and always takes the time to answer my questions (and I have A LOT of them).

Currently on my first adjusted map and will be logging results to send him over the weekend.

Nice write up! I will also be going EcuTek in the near future I hear you can gain significant increase with just the CBE and this alone and its management with the Z's VVEL. I can't wait for the map switching feature.

So far I have uploaded 4 adjusted files into my ECU. Many adjustments have been made with the most recent file adjusting ignition timing as well as adding more TQ down low.

I am eagerly awaiting the 5th adjusted file as Joe (Dynotronics) will be adjusting the Cam Timing to generate additional HP down low. I have a 7AT which shifts very smoothly, but can get bogged down low. This adjustment will attempt to remedy that situation.

Overall, I am pleased with the progress we have made so far. I am looking forward to what the future holds.

Thanks for the write-up. Subbed for updates.

I would like to share another update.

Today I received my 7th file adjustment from Joe at Dynotronics. This was the one I was waiting for. He adjusted the Cam Timing to generate additional HP/TQ in the low end.

I can say, mission accomplished. This car is more enjoyable to drive than ever. The additional TQ in the low end has all but eliminated the bogged down feeling the 7AT is known for. It is more "peppier/responsive" now. This thing just wants to take off. It's like going from riding a Mule, ok a very fast Mule (in the beginning) to being on board a Thoroughbred race horse (currently).

I have been very impressed and satisfied with the results Joe has been able to get out of this.

I understand Map Switching is right around the corner. I am eagerly awaiting this feature. Joe also advised Transmission ECU tuning for the 7AT is also in the works and coming very soon. Hopefully this will also include Launch Control. How awesome would that be to have full launch control functionality like the GT-R.

Good times are here and more is on the way!!:bowrofl:

I will need to data log this latest file adjustment in order to post it. I should have this done within the next couple of days.

I am very religious with downloading file adjustments received from Joe. I then try to immediately go out and data log (the 5-6 minute regular driving then two WOT from 1500 to 6000RPM) the adjustments. I then send Joe the data and he is very good at responding with adjusted file.

dP3NGU1N 08-28-2013 07:07 PM

Oh for the adjustment files do you not need the 20mi trim settling period? I've been doing that each time as well but I don't drive my car every day so it takes me a while =\

Yes regarding the 20 mile trim period, then the data logging can begin.

Like I previously stated, I try to do this within 48 hours after receiving the adjusted file from Joe.

My goal is to get my Z tuned as quickly as possible. :excited:

Thats awesome you are so far along in the process... I'll agree that working with Joe has been great regarding EcuTek. It's been a while since my last file upload since i crashed a month ago, but he was always available any time needed him for questions.

This is the link I used to purchase the kit with Joe at Dynotronics.

http://www.the370z.com/tuning/72600-...group-buy.html

Cost is $750.00 for the kit. Go to page 3 of this thread where you will find the Group Buy Paypal link.

In addition, when you purchase the kit from Joe at Dynotronics, you get the following.

1. Free Updates from EcuTek for life of your vehicle.
2. Lifetime Remote Tuning for as long as you own your car.
3. If you decide to upgrade from NA to FI, one time charge of $100.00
4. 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not happy with your tune, he will refund the full price of the kit.

And the number 1 reason is that Joe is one heck of a good guy. A true pleasure to work with.

If you are on the fence, do it. You will not be disappointed. ;)
