298WHP on the Dyno today!

1 Attachment(s)
Hi!

I just went to the Dyno today and my car reported 298WHP and it has no mods so far. Have anyone done a benchmark Dyno with no mods on a Nismo lately?

Regards, Nelsonv

What kind of dyno? And great numbers (unless you reply DynaPack)

ZKraken22 08-08-2013 07:09 PM

Yea great numbers

Then not bad at all! :tiphat:

The difference of your mods is the key, how much YOUR car GAINED because every dyno is different

So far no mods and the Dyno owner is my neighbor. That's the idea to have a benchmark to start the mods. First step I will buy a Osiris tuner and my neighbor will tune it to maximize what comes with the car. Next, i will get cold air intakes filters, hi flow cats and another tune.

Lets see...

(Exactly what I mean, lol)

I always get nervous when I see speed at the bottom of a dyno sheet instead of RPM's. Not saying that anything is wrong, mind you. Just not the norm.

Many dyno operators are so lazy nowadays. I think he's lucky he got a torque and an AFR plot lol

NelsonV 08-08-2013 09:06 PM

Can anyone share your results with no mods?

It IS a 4th gear pull by the looks of it, which means he should run a bit higher in 5th, so no worries

synolimit 08-08-2013 10:04 PM

I wanna say its seems high for 4th gear as i believe 5th (the correct gear) would be even higher! 15% drive train loss doesnt seem to be what others get. But at least you have a starting point.

Congratulations on the numbers! fyi, i got 270whp with no mods on a mustang dyno, but then again, mine is a non-nismo w/ sport package Z.
I see you are in PR also, good to see people from the island around here. :hello:

DarkJak 08-09-2013 04:30 AM

I think 290-ish is average for the Nismos. Nice results!

John@Z1 08-09-2013 09:39 AM

Very nice number!

isayimandrew 08-09-2013 12:37 PM

my car put out 280 whp stock and 290 whp with the FI exhaust. Noticed he was pulling in 4th though.

Kingbaby 08-09-2013 12:56 PM

4th is what it should be in! Most do third because it's a 6mt for some reason :dunno:

Never heard of doing it in third. I was under the impression it was ideal to dyno in whatever gear is closest to 1:1, but some use fourth because the wheel speed in fifth gets pretty high.

nismo13807 08-09-2013 11:02 PM

nice numbers!

5th is what it SHOULD be in, and SOME run 4th because they don't want to run the dyno to 160MPH

most of the dynos i have seen of stock nismos usually are within 290whp to 300whp

For a base run though I thought it had to be 4th, 155mph limiter.

tonythetiger 08-10-2013 12:38 PM

bolt ons air intake headers and exhaust with tune

Maduro 08-11-2013 10:06 AM

Those are great numbers, tried putting my 2013 370z sport package A/T with Stillen G3 coldair intake - Stillen C/B - Berk test pipes on the dyno yesterday for and up rev but the strangest thing happened the ECU refused to take any mod. to it, stood all day trying to work thing out to no avail. Anyone have an Ideal why this is happening

You may have the wrong Rom.

Maduro 08-13-2013 10:24 PM

It is what your tune is written on then you flash it on the ECU (engine control unit, read only memory).

Thanks, was online looking it up

Maduro 09-15-2013 10:23 PM

Just had an Uprev tune the Numbers were 300 whp and 275 torque. was looking to break the 300 whp, was on N/A Brags and saw cars with the same mods doing well over 300 ex; 320 to 340+

Dyno doesn't mean anything if you don't have a before and after. Also trap speed will give you real info.

Depends on the settings for the dyno. What dyno? What settings? What gear? Its not out of the norm if the tuner set it wrong. My tuner sets it right and CBE with cai I'm at 226. It wouldn't be normal to gain 50tq from a tune and test pipes.
